In this day and age, we all expect everything to come to us quickly and effortlessly, even weight loss.

Those pounds took years to creep up on us, and it will take some time to return to your former self.

Of course, those aren't the words that you wanted to read. However, I am sharing the real truth of the matter with you.

It's the start of the New Year, January 2011, and this is the most infamous month of the year, for a huge spike of interest in weight loss products, and actually losing the pounds after those treachous holidays.

The majority of people gained between 5 - 10 pounds from Thanksgiving on thru until the culmination of Jan 1st.

I will mention a few diets that have been helpful to me, and even provide links. These diets are good for people who only have 20 or less pounds to lose.

I personally still feel that the information I will share with you, is the best way to go, however, you are the ultimate decision-maker for your life.

I will provide links to various diet's such as "The Cabbage Soup Diet", and "The Master Cleanse Diet", at the end of this page. Then, I will tell you about the ultimate way of life that works for me, and it just may work for too, if you really put your heart and mind into it.

At any rate, you will find something on this page, that should help you in your quest. Onward, and Upward.

Effective techniques to stay in shape.

I went back to the basics that my Mom taught us as kids. As youngsters, we had very little refined carbohydrates, very little sugar type products, or beverages. We ate simply, but healthfully. We were rarely sick because of the types of foods that we ate on a daily basis.

If you wanted something to eat, you fixed it. You didn't microwave it, or go to the fast food spot. You boiled the rice, and cooked the pork chops, and it was good for you.

Nowadays, we have excuses for why we eat the way we do. Whether its because of lack of time, or convenience. If you want to get in better shape you must decide to give up the junk, refined carbs and insist on changing to a more healthful lifestyle.

Quick RECIPE for SUCCESS.

Weigh less and keep it off for good.

How? You ask.

Do this.

1. Keep a Food Diary of all that you consume daily. The food diary will help keep you accountable of all that you eat. It will actually feel strange to look at what you wrote down or to type what you ate, like cake and ice cream.

2. Be thankful everyday for the food that you have. Therefore, say a brief thanks, or grace whenever you eat.

3. Get rid of, by throwing out all the unnecessary junk foods around your house. If its not helping you, then it is hurting you in the long run.

4. Get at least 5 - 10 minutes of exercise in every single day. This is non-negotiable. It doesn't take much to walk around the store a couple of more times, or go to the mall and walk. You don't have to join a gym and turn into a gym rat, just to improve your body weight.

5. You must decide to eat fruits and vegetables. No excuses about how you don't like them. You will find once you get all of the crap out of your system, you will start to gain a greater appreciation of the more healthful varieties of foods. (Raw foods, are even better).
Try a salad every day.

6. Drink water, water, water all day, every day. My main beverage is water, however, I do allow myself to drink at least one glass of orange juice, pure cranberry or grapefruit juice daily. I don't drink sugary drinks and you should reconsider not drinking them either.

7. You must get your mindset together before even attempting to follow any plan or you just won't finish the race. That simply means, sitting down and writing out your objectives and reasons for wanting to get in shape.

8. DO NOT SKIP ANY MEALS. If you skip meals, you will start to sabotage yourself to the point, that cravings will take over and you will give in.

9. Eat when hungry, a sensible amount of food, not to the point of gorging. It is preferable that you eat every 3 hours or so.

10. Eat only a small amount of carbohydrates with your meal, of about the size of your palm.

You Already Know the Way to San Jose.

You know how to lose the pounds and get in shape, but you just refuse to at this time. However, "if it is to be, it is up to me." Don't blame anyone, but yourself for where you are. It will take you and only you to get back to where you want to be.

22 health tips...

1. Eat uncooked food one day each week.

2. Fast at least three meals a week.

3. Do not eat fast.

4. Do not drink things real hot or real cold.

5. Do not drink liquids with your meals.

6. Drink your fruit juices at least forty-five minutes before you eat and wait at least two hours after you eat before you drink fruit juices or vegetable juices.

7. DO NOT eat starches, sugar, or sweet fruits such as raisins, dates, and figs with meats or fruits such as grapefruit, oranges, lemons, apples, pears, peaches, etc.

8. Avoid fried foods, gravies, hot sauces, and black pepper.

9. Drink a lot of pure water.

10. Do not eat late at night.

11. Since food is sanctified by the Word of God and prayer, quote a verse of Scripture and always ask the Lord to bless the food.

12. Young people, remember that a good complexion does not come out of a jar or a bottle, but out of your stomach. A healthy outside comes from a healthy inside.

13. Make your own toothpaste out of salt and soda. The dentist will tell you this is safer and better for your teeth. [Note: We consider ToothSoap to be a much healthier choice that salt and baking soda. - Eds]

14. Take a good fast walk every day, concentrating on breathing deeply. It's better to walk early in the morning when things are fresh and you get your purest air.

15. Wear the most comfortable shoes if you want healthy feet.

16. Do not wear clothes that interfere with the circulation.

17. Do not be afraid of sunshine. There is healing in it.

18. Sleep on a hard bed and learn to sleep on your back. Your framework is in your back, but if you sleep on your stomach or side, you are likely to impair the organs of your body and many times develop cricks in your neck and in your arms. I would rather sleep three hours on a hard bed than four on a soft bed.

19. Do not sleep in a room with the gas turned on because it will burn out the oxygen. Keep plenty of fresh air in the room.

20. Try to be asleep by ten o'clock and not later than eleven. One hour before midnight is worth two after midnight.

21. Do not be deceived either by the advertisements or by the great intellects. Good food and good health habits really work. Find out what your body needs and faithfully provide it.

22. Don't compare money or time with health. Health is priceless.
