If you want to lose the extra baby weight fast then I would like to share my experience with you. I am a real Mom who has finally lost the last of my baby weight fast since becoming inspired by a big event in my life. I sucessfully found a healthy, easy and quick solution to my lingering baby weight.

Why I went searching for how to lose my baby weight fast

I am about 5'5" and for many years my weight was 140 lbs ± 5 lbs. When I became pregnant I was on the high side of my weight range. I gained 40 pounds during the pregnancy. I lost 30 (breastfeeding helps!).

Then when my first child was 8 months old I became pregnant again. I gained 45 pounds with the second pregnancy and in a little over a year after the birth I lost 40 pounds. I wish I would have gone searching for how to lose my baby weight as soon as I finished breastfeeding rather than wasting almost a year.

So, the net result was that I was still 15 pounds too heavy to fit in my original wardrobe!

I was REALLY tired of wearing the same few outfits over and over again. I didn't buy a lot of new clothes since I kept planning to lose weight and get back into my old clothes. Well, I had been saying that for over a year and something had to give! I was ready for a change!

A large portion of my family had a cruise coming up in early August 2008. It was my first cruise. I had to find out how to lose my extra weight fast to be back in my clothes for that cruise!

My Criteria as a Busy Mom for the Best Diet to Lose Baby Weight Fast

I went in search of a diet that would make me lose my baby weight fast but still fit within the following criteria:

Cheap: The diet had to be reasonably cheap since money is tight after making the choice to become a stay-at-home-Mom. We couldn't afford a plan where I had to pay for meals or a membership every month.

Very Simple to Set-Up: Although being a Mom is extremely rewarding it is much harder than I ever imagined. As you know, it is a busy 24/7 job. The diet had to be easy to arrange - no daily calorie counting or extensive meal planning!

Very Simple to Implement: I enjoy cooking but I don't do much of it these days. As my children get older and entertain themselves better, I will cook fancier meals but right now its the simple stuff. So, the food in the diet had to be easy to prepare - no fancy recipes or time consuming preparation!

Healthy: I didn't want a diet that involved diet pills or that was all of one type of food. Nutrition is a hobby of mine and I wanted a diet that consisted of healthy, natural foods.

No Strict Exercise Requirement: Exercise is extremely good for our bodies and will certainly aid in losing weight. I work out some at the YMCA but at this stage of being a busy Mom, I simply cannot commit to a rigid exercise program.

OKAY - What diet would allow me to lose my baby weight fast and still fit these criteria? I got busy searching and... Yes! I found one that did all of these and even more. It is an extremely popular and successful diet online right now called Fat Loss 4 Idiots (I personally don't care much for the name but the diet is great!). I researched some dieting forums and found that "real people" like me were praising this diet and getting great results.

I jumped right on board and I'm so glad I did!

This diet is based on eating 4 times a day and switching around food groups so that your body stays "surprised" and thus your metabolism stays high. They call it calorie-shifting.

Fat Loss 4 Idiots works on an 11 day cycle. You diet for 11 days then you get 3 "free" days. At that point you can choose to start another cycle or just maintain your current weight. You can do as many cycles as you like or need.

You can lose up to 9 pounds per 11 day cycle on Fat Loss 4 Idiots. From the forums I was researching, I would say most people lose at least 6 lbs per cycle and some reach 9 lbs or more.

Can you Lose After Baby Weight Fast?

I am very happy to report that I lost 6 pounds in 9 days on the first cycle (I didn't complete the last two days because I had to go out of town unexpectedly). I did not gain any back on my free days (but I tried to be pretty good). I lost 3 pounds in the second cycle but I have to confess that I cheated several days because of family get togethers. But if I can cheat and still lose 3 pounds in 11 days then I'm happy! I lost 5 pounds in my third cycle but again, I cheated a little. My best tip would be just to keep breastfeeding as long as possible. I really think that nursing is what got me down to my pre-pregnancy weight within a few months of giving birth with all 4 of mine. Combine that with a sensible diet and staying active and it's a winning strategy. Great lens!

Exercise can compliment your weight loss efforts

Adding exercise is not a requirement of the Fat Loss 4 Idiots diet. If you do exercise, the diet recommends walking as the best compliment to the diet. If you have the time and place to do this then you will probably speed up the process even further to lose after baby weight fast. I do not exercise regularly but I know I should. I will have to work on that next!
