Healthy Weight Loss

People wanting to lose weight consists of all shapes and sizes as there are many different reasons for wanting to lose weight.  Believe it or not, it isn't just people who are extremely overweight that want to lose some pounds.

Some people want to loser just a couple of pounds, some people want to gain more muscle mass, some people need to lose weight for health reasons, and some people truly need to lose a sizeable amount of weight simply to improve their quality of life.

Three Easy Steps to Start Losing Weight Now

You will never hear anyone say losing weight is easy. It isn't! It takes a certain amount of dedication, motivation and hard work. But you can get off to a good start by making a few simple changes in your lifestyle. Here are a few fast weight loss tips.

One of the first things to consider if you want to lose weight is to start paying attention to food labels. You need this skill in order to count calories.

You should learn how to find a food's serving size and caloric content. Comparing labels among different foods and beverages is crucial for making the healthier choices required to lose weight. If you're serious about changing your lifestyle, these steps will help.

The key is to dedicate yourself to the idea of losing weight and to be consistent. You'll love the finished product.

Losing weight isn't a walk in the park. But if you follow these steps you may find it's a little easier than you thought!

Follow These Simple Steps

First you need to maintain a certain caloric level based on your height and weight. This is the number of calories you need to fuel your body on an average day.

For example, living, standing and walking all burn a certain amount of calories. While you won't burn the same exact amount of calories each day, you should determine any average for your body size. Getting this number (or a close enough estimate) is quite easy. Most Diet plans will provide this information.

Second, once you know your daily calorie maintenance level, you need to do some basic subtraction. A good rule of thumb is to use the "3500 calories in 1 pound" standard. For example, if you ate 3500 fewer calories than your body burns in a week, you would lose 1 pound each week.

Considering there are 7 days in a week, this would come out to be 500 less calories than your maintenance level each day. (3500 calories ÷ 7days = 500 calories less per day) necessary to lose one pound in one week.

Here's and example that should help you grasp this concept. Let's say your daily calorie maintenance level came is about 3000 calories per day.

If you wanted to lose 1 pound per week, you would need to eat 500 fewer calories each day. So, if you started eating just 2500 calories each day from now on you would create a total deficit of 3500 calories a week and could expect to lose about 1 pound per week.

This is just a brief explanation of what is involved to lose weight. I didn't mention anything about protein, carbs or fat. If you really want to take this to the next level, I would suggest purchasing one of the many weight loss programs on the market.

One program that I have found to be VERY helpful is called "STRIP THAT FAT". You can find the website by going to the bottom of this page and clicking on the words "STRIP THAT FAT" just below the big arrows.

The great thing about this program is that you can EAT AS MUCH AS YOU DID BEFORE and still lose weight. You do it by eating smart. Eating the right foods is the key.

You can eat the foods you like without that hungry feeling. Personally, I feel that's the best way to lose weight and keep it off for good. No Starving or just eating low fat foods.

Remember, losing weight isn't going to be easy, but with the right program, the right attitude and the right motivation anyone can do it - THAT INCLUDES YOU!!

Good Luck and Happy Dieting!
