Advice on Losing Weight - Sense or Nonsense?

When you start losing weight so you can be a thinner you, why is it so many people feel they just have to give you advice?

And, why is so much of that advice wrong? Ever notice this?

I find it interesting that many people are experts (or think they are) at losing weight! Yet, obesity is a world wide problem.

Well, okay, let's look at some of this great advice, and see if it is as good as it was purported to be.

If you are trying to be a thinner you does what they say make sense or is it pure nonsense?

You have to drink 8 glasses of water per day.

Sense or nonsense?

Most nutritionists say we all, dieters or not, should drink 6 -8 glasses of liquid per day. But, does it all have to be just water?

Good news!

Weight Watchers has said that half of the liquid may be flavored, such as tea, Crystal Light or other non-calorie drink; including decaffeinated coffee if you drink it black.

Diet sodas or alcohol can't be counted though. Sorry!

All that water, and you'll never get out of the bathroom.

Sense or nonsense?

This one is a bit of both, actually. Yes, at first you will probably have to "go" more often. However, you will get used to taking in more liquid and your body will adjust.

Besides, if you are dieting you are probably also getting more exercise, so your body will need more hydrating.

I am not referring to running to the bathroom as exercise. Sorry, it doesn't count!

You have worms and sludge in your colon that keeps you fat.

Sense or nonsense?

This one I'm not touching. If it is your choice to have a colon cleansing as a regular part of your diet, please, please, do so with your Doctors approval.

Actually, one should get their Doctors approval for any weight loss regimen. Your health is important.

Don't get radical with your health.

The best sense is what works for you.

No doubt you have heard many more bits of advice than what is mentioned here. Some good sense and some non-sense about losing weight.
