Losing Weight with Hypothyroidism IS Possible!

If you are one of the 2.4% of the world population that suffers from hypothyroidism, or an underactive thyroid, you have probably experienced the huge frustration of gaining weight and then not being able to take it off very easily.

I was there too! I know what it's like to struggle with losing weight and then to have to deal with hypothyroidism on top of weight issues just compounds the whole problem.

Hypothyroidism Is...........What Exactly?

Hypothyroidism is when your thyroid gland (located at the front of the neck below the voicebox) does not produce enough hormones. These hormones are called thyroxine and triiodothyronine - T3 and T4 for short.

It's really a bit more complex then just not enough hormones being produced - hypothyroidism also involves the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus -there is a whole chain of events that ties all three together.

When one part of the chain breaks - the whole darn chain stops working! The good news is that there are natural remedies that can be used to get the chain working like it should so you can have the energy, good health and weight loss you deserve!

What Kind of Foods do I Eat to Help me Lose Weight?

Fortunately, the types of foods to eat to help you lose weight when you are hypothyroid are all available at your local grocery store. There are no pre-packaged foods to buy, no weird concoctions to make - just normal, yummy whole foods. By whole foods I mean unprocessed ones - any healthy eating plan benefits from eating foods that are the least processed as possible.

There are types of foods to avoid too - I am happy to report that chocolate is not on the avoid list!
