Books From The TV Show Lost
Ranked #49 in Books, Poetry & Writing, #1,556 overall
Guys, where are we?
Welcome to the Lost book list. Here you will find books that were seen or referenced on ABC's popular television series, Lost.
If you've been wondering what books Sawyer, Ben, Jacob or anyone else from Lost were reading, you're in the right place.
If you've been wondering what books Sawyer, Ben, Jacob or anyone else from Lost were reading, you're in the right place.
What do these books have to do with Lost?
A lot. Some of the episodes are named after them. Many episodes contain references to them. Some of the story lines closely follow them. These books have served as creative inspiration to the creators, writers and producers of Lost. Because of that there are themes, clues and references from the books worked into the plot of Lost.
An example is the name Henry Gale. In Lost, this is the name Ben gave to the tailies when they found him, claiming to have crashed on the island in a balloon. Henry Gale is the name of Dorothy's uncle in The Wizard of Oz. The balloon crash (and the Flight 815 crash) is similar to a Jules Verne novel, The Mysterious Island, where the main characters crash a balloon onto an island in the South Pacific. Strange things happen as the survivors begin to realize they are not alone on the island.

The Last Addition To The Lost Book List
Seen On Season 6 Episode 11 (April 13, 2010)
May 24, 2010...wow, the show's over, done, gone, moved on...surprisingly there were no new books in the last 6 shows, including the series finale. This is the last book featured on LOST.
Sawyer's Reading List
Sawyer is the most avid reader of the Oceanic Flight 815 survivors. He's often seen kicking back on the beach with a new book in his hands. He even started wearing glasses to read better.
These are books that Sawyer was seen reading.

- Love this list! What about adding Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck? Didn't Sawyer have a conversation with "smoke monster Locke" in season 6 about a scene in the book before pointing a gun at him? Also seem to remember another scene where he discusses something from the book with Jack and once where he is reading the book at the beginning. What are your thoughts?

- It's listed under Sawyer's reading list. "Of Mice and Men" showed up in seasons 3 and 6.

Everyone has Troubles. Some never face it because the metaphorical path leading upto it is LOST somewhere in the pages of history. But then someone figures out the way. Now people appreciate it and the person who is the cause of it. Who's the saviour ?

- Yes, there are. Rather, there a huge parallels between the plots. In The Tempest, a ship wrecks on to what seems to be just an island, but is really an island filled with mystical, mysterious wonders. And, therein is your parallel.

- I love your new twist of a booklist, based on a t.v. show. I remember some of the references, but it was much more interesting to see what all was referenced(adding yet another depth to the show). Great work! Keep it up!
Like.
