    Oh! This brain; it sure is a quirky thing; just never lets us be;
    Conjures up visions all the while that we are compelled to see.
    Delineates our existence into realms of wakefulness and sleep;
    Defines the experience of one as reality; the other as reverie.
    Controls our ability to remember things entirely on its whim;
    Some days are rather grim on this score, others vigorously vim.
    It treats the rest of ourselves as slaves; its deviousness is deep;
    If we seek to rebel, we see us reflected in it, appearing all prim.

    Hilarious, and so true..... the 'Name Game' is where I falter the most now that I'm on the 'far side of 50'! (Great line and most appropriate). :-)

    I wish I could remember all the stories about things I've forgotten. If one comes up, I'll come back. Thanks for this great laugh and letting me know that I'm not alone.

    I've done so many dumb things that I'd like to add to your list above, but right now I can't remember any of them! I laughed while reading this page, so thank you..!

    Excellent Lens, now I see why revenue is up for brain training programs!

    Great job. I just finished working on my crossword puzzles to help with my brain fitness. Love doing them; but I still can't remember where I left my lucky pen to use in doing them. Probably the same place I left my cell phone.

    I have a daughter who just turned 40ish and she is telling me that she is having trouble remembering things. Doh! Why do we think that Post-It notes were and continue to be so popular.

    Great lens. 5 memories, 1 fave and a lens roll to my babyboomerandretiement lens. I love your stuff.

    What I don't understand is why one person's long-term memory is so much better than another's (even before age is a factor.)

    Nicely done; blessed by an Angel!

    Very nice. 5* & favorite.

    Funny lens, Bonnie! Thanks for the laughs. :D ...My memory is colorblind -- if something was red, my memory says blue or green or orange -- I forget, but some color other than red. Haven't done any research on it. Kind of fascinated by it, though.

    This is a classic and I know 'cause I got a few years on you! Got over here by shout from Joan4... I love the Rose story too, but I dearly love seeing granny on the chopper! Names have never been my forte, but now... well... anyway whatever your name is... I love reading your work! I got a great chortle, a belly laugh and .... oh... I left the stove on again.............................................

    Joan, you are so right! If we haven't developed a sense of humor in our earlier years, the senior years are going to turn us into cranky old grumps! Gotta laugh at ourselves.

    Ohme, trust me...I understand the joke-telling challenge. I love good jokes but when it comes to repeating them, I sometimes get to the punch line and go blank. NOT good!
  • OhMe Apr 12, 2009 @ 3:28 pm | delete
    You are a HOOT! This is so funny and I thoroughly enjoyed the read and the laughs. I love the Rose joke. I am going to try to remember that one. I can hear me now "I read the funniest joke- it was uhhh - wait a minute---uhhh--something about a flower--never mind!"
  • Joan4 Apr 12, 2009 @ 10:53 am | delete
    The senior years show us why we spent our younger years developing our sense of humor for sure! Might as well just make lists and keep on laughing -- it's the only way to keep track of stuff in good humor! Whew! This is a fun lens! But oh so true to life! 5* and an angel blessing for you!

    Thanks you for providing my morning laugh! I really enjoyed this lens. I turn 60 in a few short days ....so loosing my Hippocampus is becoming an everyday thing. Especially the glasses. I decided to put them on the front of my shirt so I can find them....and then I still forget they are there. Run all over house looking for them and my husband says look at your front....oh well!! Live is Good!! We have to laugh!!

    My Doctor assures me that as I recover from Otosclerosis then my short term memory will improve. But if I dont recover soon, then the normal aging process will kick in. The daftest thing I have done recently is put the frozen peas in the fridge rather than returning them to the freezer - twice!

    This is a major reason as to why I started working on line...it was so totally different and unknown I hoped it might help keep me a bit sharper!

    I am sure I lost my Hippo ages ago because I keep acting Potty... Very nice lens, a great read, and some of the articles with links are an amazing read too. This is a lens that could keep you busy for ages. 5***** well deserved.
