Set in a hidden valley but close to the main A2 trunk road, this atmospheric venue is truly a step into the past. The 14th Century Chapel that once formed the focal point of the village stands alone in terraced grounds but it is once inside that things begin to get different.
The lighting comes from candles and real flaming torches mixed with a few shards of natural light from the small slit windows and perhaps the open door. Straw and dried herbs scattered on the floor and sheep skins on the pew seats take this venue right through the centuries to a time long since passed.
