Lord of the Rings: Risk Board Game..... To Battle!
An Overview of Lord of the Rings Risk
The Basics of Lord of the Rings Risk
The game begins with the One Ring in the Shire. Each turn the ring draws closer to the home of Sauron : Mordor. The forces of good and evil battle each other across the map in classic risk style. If the Ring reaches Mordor, the side of good prevails. If the forces of Sauron are able to destroy the ring, then victory is theirs.
With the exciting and fast paced nature of the game, an entire game can be played in a few hours.

How LOTR: Risk is different than Classic Risk
What makes Lord of the Rings Risk Different than the classic version
- Static Card Turn in Levels- One of the most famous features of Classic Risk is the card turn ins. A card is awarded to a player each turn that he/she takes over a territory. These cards have a territory and a symbol on them. Once the player has 3 different symbols or three of a kind, they can turn the cards in for bonus armies.
In LOTR Risk these turn ins are fixed at 4,6,8,and 10 armies for turn ins depending on the symbol. Three different symbols receive the 10 army bonus.
In Classic Risk, the type of symbol doesn't change but the bonus armies awarded increase incrementally over time, making cards more and more powerful. - Power Cards- LOTR Risk also introduces a separate type of card called power cards. These cards can be played at various times to get more armies, destroy attacking armies, and various other in game effects. This feature adds a lot of character to the game.
- New Map Layout- Previous Risk variants stayed true to the original Risk board layout. However, with LOTR Risk the map has been entirely redesigned. New choke points, continent values, and sea routes mean that your classic Risk strategy must be completely rethought.

in reply to GypsyPirate I own the game, it's fun if you like regular risk...It requires a lot of rethinking of strategies, as well as a much more aggressive style of play (there is no "Australia" type strategy that works for example)
The only thing I would change is remove the Evil "I win button." If the fellowship (represented by a ring token) moves through a territroy an evil player controls, the evil player had a chance of finding the ring...if that happens game over, evil wins.

I agree this LotR version of Risk has got some good twists to it. I have also got a free Risk game on my computer which is very good too.
