Love Is the Difference Between Chaos and Joy
People respond well to love. They respond by working harder, being more organized, and getting along with their co-workers. So how can we bring more love into our working environments?
I'm not talking about romantic love. That's something to avoid in your working environment! But genuine human heart to heart compassion and friendship... REAL love... has a place in all human interactions including in the work place.
Whether you are the company manager or low man on the totem pole, you can take responsibility to be the one to radiate love. The more love you create in your work place, the happier and more productive everyone will be.
On this lens you'll find a few suggestions for learning to generate and radiate love while you're at work.
1. Breathe Love In
Spend a few moments in nature daily - minimum, about fifteen minutes - more if you can spare the time.
While you are there take a standing meditative pose, feet slightly apart, hands at your side, arms slightly away from your body. Breathe in deeply, visualizing positive chi (energy) as it enters through your breath, crown chakra, hands, and feet.
Wow, that's a lot of positive energy! Exhale completely, and visualize all stale or negative energies leaving you. Practice this positive energy breath at least five times while you're in a soothing place of natural beauty.
2. Learn To Radiate Love
Take fifteen minutes to meditate on your heart chakra daily. Visualize soft green light surrounding this chakra. Feel the light shining from the heart chakra. Take note of the joyous bliss this light radiation causes in the area of your heart.
If it doesn't happen right away, keep practicing and don't despair or give up. You too can radiate love from your heart chakra. That's what it's there for!
3. Practice Sending Love To Others
When you're full of positive energy and quite adept at radiating pure love, try it at work. You can start by doing it surreptitiously, occasionally taking a moment to radiate love toward your co-workers.
If this puts a smile on your face and makes your co-workers suspiciously ask what's going on, don't blame me!
4. Love Like Sunshine Girl
Perhaps a better way is to copy Sunshine Girl's example.
Sunshine Girl (not her real name) was a young woman I met at work way back in the 1980's. Sunshine Girl was not the prettiest around, in that she'd been beaten to a pulp by her ex-husband and her face bore the agony of those scars. But she had the amazing ability to radiate love, and when she did her face lit up almost visibly, and was the essence of beauty.
She could turn to me and in the flash of a nano-second, smile at me lovingly, look into my eyes, and radiate her love while saying, "How are you today, Linda?"
Wow! I look back at this and think I was in the presence of an angel, but at the time I just marveled at how radiantly loving this pure soul was.
I truly believe we can all do what Sunshine Girl did. We can do it at work. We can do it at home. We can spread love everywhere!
What might happen if you tried this at work?
...let your imagination run wild.
Seriously! If you tried radiating love at work, how do you think your co-workers would react?
My prediction
Love is never wasted. Even if it seems not to be warmly received, the other person's heart is affected. Every bit of love you give is a treasure beyond measure.
