My love of crochet

Ranked #24,543 in Hobbies, Games & Toys, #490,487 overall

The beginning of my crochet hobby.

As far back as I can remember, I have always loved to crochet. I used to watch my mother crochet some nice things and it impressed me. One day my mother taught me how to make the starting chain and I worked on the chain forever before I got it right. I made a very long chain, I thought I was really doing something. Then my older sister Mary saw me and she said,"what are you doing with that long chain"? I said I was crocheting and she said."you are supposed to put the chains together and make some stitches"! Fortunately then she taught me how to do the single stitch and double stitch and I was hooked (no pun intended). I started crocheting as a hobby and still crochet for family and friends and for profit. I love crocheting and I hope I am always able to do it, as I am developing arthritis and it starts to act up when it gets cold. Anyway, thanks Mary for teaching me how to crochet. LOve ya.

Therapy

And just plain relaxing

Lately it seems that I cannot sit and watch t.v or a movie without having something in my hands or craft to do during the movie.Makes it feel like I am wasting time with idle hands. So now I use this opportunity to crochet and it is also a kind of therapy of sorts for me because it puts me in a good mood and also relaxes any anxiety I may have. Another good thing about crocheting is that it is an inexpensive therapy.
