Odin had two ravens - Huginn and Munin (Thought and Memory) who flew all over Midgard and brought him information and he is often depicted with them - one sitting on each shoulder :)

Fantastic lens - blessed by a Squid Angel :)

if you're into gothic horror fiction, you should also check out that new movie based on "The Picture of Dorian Gray" - dark, moody, fantastic! :) I found a blog review with a trailer at the end too: http://infloox.wordpress.com/2009/09/27/the-picture-of-dorian-grey-movie-adaptation/

One of my favorite birds, though often overlooked or unappreciated. I love to watch them do their acrobatics in the air at Grand Canyon and listen to their wide range of vocals.

Oh yes, forgot to add -- hope you make LoD -- Poe's home is in Richmond, Virginia--I remember the thrill of reading that poem in eighth grade -- but I never read anything about his inspiration for writing it...

Great lens and fits perfectly with my "Critters of the Coconino National Forest", so I'm lensrolling. Looking for great lenses on each of the critters I've selected so people can find out even more about them. Will include a link to this lens in the module as well. 5*

My dad loved Edgar Allen Poe's work and named me after The Raven. Maybe that's why I am fascinated by ravens, or maybe it's coincidental. Thanks for this super-cool lens!

Thank you for your comments on my lens!

I have had a fascination for ravens as long as I can remember. Raven is my Dad's nickname. The creatures are intelligent, majestic and intriguing. Thank you for your depiction of the raven and the well put together lens. 5* can't wait to read your other lens.

An inspiring lens,5 Star - I think there is something very exciting and powerful about the shiny black raven - The Alchemists associated the Raven with the highest spiritual knowledge because a rainbow sheen can sometimes be seen on the black plumage. In his book 'Animal Messenger' Scott Alexander King suggests that "...When we accept the Dreaming of the Raven we begin to understand our innate knowledge, the deep wisdom that comes with living our purpose and the Magick harnessed when we learn how to administer it."

Love this lens! The Raven was the first poem that Mum ever read, her GrandMum had a book of poems. Reading that poem made her love poetry for the rest of her life. An amazing classic.

Me? I just like to herd them. :) Thanks for an amazing lens with beauty and great info! Woofs, Johann

This is an amazing Lens!! I love the Poem 'The Raven' by Edgar Allan Poe. It is my favourite Poem, and prompted me to write one about Ravens, though not in the same class as his obviously.

I loved the images and photographs you used too. A really splendid Lens!

    Favourite and 5*****
