Why Do I Love Spring?
Being brought up in the country it is always about new life as well, lambing, foals being born and so on. I don t live so rural now but I always look for that and love top watch all the new life.
After the quiet and stillness of winter everything seems to be busy, the birds rushing around, the shoots comng up and the first spring flowers opening their blooms showing off thier beauty.
Even though iti s often still very cold these sights warm the heart and with the longer hours of daylight lift my spirits. I am outside as much as possible and I Love it!!
Spring Birthday!
Here is a wonderful mare and foal that live near us. Arent they gorgeous!
Baby Blackbird
The Spring by Thomas Carew
Her snow-white robes; and now no more the frost
Candies the grass, or casts an icy cream
Upon the silver lake or crystal stream:
But the warm sun thaws the benumbed earth,
And makes it tender; gives a sacred birth
To the dead swallow; wakes in hollow tree
The drowsy cuckoo and the humble-bee.
Now do a choir of chirping minstrels bring,
In triumph to the world, the youthful spring:
The valleys, hills, and woods in rich array
Welcome the coming of the long'd-for May.
Now all things smile: only my love doth lower,
Nor hath the scalding noon-day sun the power
To melt that marble ice, which still doth hold
Her heart congeal'd, and makes her pity cold.
The ox, which lately did for shelter fly
Into the stall, doth now securely lie
In open fields; and love no more is made
By the fire-side, but in the cooler shade
Amyntas now doth with his Chloris sleep
Under a sycamore, and all things keep
Time with the season: only she doth carry
June in her eyes, in her heart January.
Very Cute Ducklings!

Vibrant Spring!
These vibrant , gorgeous Spring poppies in my garden warm the heart!
Springwatch Opening Titles
To Spring by William Blake
Through the clear windows of the morning, turn
Thine angel eyes upon our western isle,
Which in full choir hails thy approach, O Spring!
The hills tell one another, and the listening
Valleys hear; all our longing eyes are turn'd
Up to thy bright pavilions: issue forth
And let thy holy feet visit our clime!
Come o'er the eastern hills, and let our winds
Kiss thy perfumèd garments; let us taste
Thy morn and evening breath; scatter thy pearls
Upon our lovesick land that mourns for thee.
O deck her forth with thy fair fingers; pour
Thy soft kisses on her bosom; and put
Thy golden crown upon her languish'd head,
Whose modest tresses are bound up for thee.
Magnolia Springs To Life!
In the winter our magnolia tree has bare branches. In the spring she bursts in to life, not with leaf buds but with buds of soft pink opening up to huge beautiful blooms. As the blooms fade over the course of a few weeks then we get the leaves. The blooms are short lived but oh so worth waiting for and enjoying while they are here.
Sometimes we just admire, other times I will take a single bloom and place it in a dish of water where it makes a wonderful table centrepiece.
Here is a close up of a cluster of blooms.

- Hi LaraineRose,
I inherited spring poppies, as they were called from the late elderly couple who used to live next door to us. I have red and yellow tulips too, can't remember if I took any photos of them this spring. I will have a look and put them on the lens too. Yes I would love to visit your Tulip lens. Thankyou for your lovely comment:)

- Very nice lens, 5*****. Yesterday we went for a walk in the New Forest. Heard cuckoos, the Magnolia was in bloom, Rhododendrons about to come out, Gorse fully out in bright yellow, and we also happened upon about 30 deer, including 2 white ones. I love the springtime, the flowers and blossoms are beautiful.

- Great 5* lens. I've been in our garden this morning, the first daffodils are showing and the yellow primroses are virtually out, the buds are on the bushes and trees - perfect! I'm in the south west of England and it's lovely at this time of year.
