He has asked you to marry him and you have said yes. You can't wait to tell your parents, family, friends, work colleagues and anyone who is willing to listen

Some weddings are small and simple; others are accompanied by much pomp and ceremony. Regardless of the size or style of your dream wedding, achieving your perfect day requires an enormous amount of planning, organization and attention to detail.

You probably know already that average cost of a wedding is approximately $30,000. If your budget starts looking a bit on the low side I can give you a few tips to be able to have a great wedding even for the low budget.

Low Budget Weddings - Relax and Enjoy the Process

Two most important things you need to remember no matter what ...

I know how stressful it can be to plan your wedding. So here is my two cents of wisdom.

First and Foremost: Your wedding day is about YOU and YOUR husband to be. It's YOUR special day. Stop worrying about pleasing everybody else - you simply cannot and by the time you realize this, the stress will already have taken root. From now on, think about yourself and your FH and what's best for the two of you. How you look will depend on how you feel - and the build up to the wedding is critical to how you feel on the day.

The second thing is just as important: Have fun. You should savor and enjoy every moment, even the detailed planning. This is the day you've dreamed about all your life and you want and deserve memories that you'll cherish for a lifetime. Don't let stress ruin your looks, your dreams and your memories.

Low Budget Weddings - Plan to Succeed

The most important thing in managing your wedding budget is to plan ahead of time

First of all you need to have a solid plan for your wedding budget. Pick a notebook an divide it into twelve sections. Those sections are:
1. Budget
2. Calendar
3. Ceremony
4. Clothing
5. Flowers
6. Reception
7. Other Food Service
8. Music
9. Decorations
10. Photography and Videography
11. Guest and Gift list
12. Incidentals

The budget is the top priority because all your decisions will revolve around money you have to spend on wedding.
Now divide your budget into the following categories

1. Reception food and drink
2. Bride's attire
3. Photography and videography
4. Music
5. Flowers
6. Invitations and postage
7. Miscellaneous(decorations, transportaton, parking attendants, guest book, clergyman's fee, etc.)

Low Budget Weddings - Reception Food and Drink

Reception food gets the largest portion of the budget

First of all you need to reserve a venue for your wedding that allows you to have full control. Otherwise some sites will require to order their wedding reception service which can be quite expensive.

In fact reception food can be prepared by you, your family members and your friends. Family members not only prepare all the food for the reception, but pay for it as well. This is the way wedding receptions were usually handled in the "olden days," but, unfortunately, this old-fashioned generosity is not seen as frequently these days. When it is seen, it's usually in a very close family where it has become a tradition to help provide the reception food for each bride as she comes along.

The family members decide, with the help of the bride, of course, who should bring what type of food, keeping the wedding theme in mind. There will usually be at least one talented aunt or grandma with the "gift of hospitality" who can come up with the menu. The family members prepare and store the food in their own homes until the day of the wedding. Other than approving the menu, the bride and her family are relieved of any responsibility other than the cost to cover the paper products, if required such as plates, utensils, napkins, cups and plastic tumblers.
