Why be a Vegetarian? 

There are many reasons why you should consider Low Calorie Vegetarian Recipes and diet.

Firstly, the nutrients which we need to keep healthy and fit exist in plant foods and vegetarian staples as well as meat, and so there is no necessity to eat meat.

It is also true that animal foods contain much higher fat levels and cholesterol than vegetables. In particular Animal meat contains more saturated fats. Plants do not contain cholesterol. Again the vegetarian recipes have the advantage.

Carbohydrates are found in vegetables but not in meat, and are important to staying healthy. Similarly vegetables contain many vitamins not contained in meat. So Low Calorie And Vegetarian Recipes can be healthier.

Farmed meat contains many chemicals, often much more than plant food, despite the existence of some chemicals in vegetables due to intensive farming methods.

Similarly animals bred for food are full of steroids, growth hormones and other drugs. Frankly these drugs would never be legal for a human to take, but we consume them in meat.

So in summary it is perfectly possible to use Low Calorie And Vegetarian Recipes and still receive all the nutrients and goodness your body needs, without the chemicals and fat contained in meat.

Are Vegetariain Diets Necessarily Healthy? 

Most people have misconceptions about the food they eat, is something good for you, bad for you, will this food offset harmful effects caused by another, should we only eat certain types of food, etc etc. In fact the key is balance in your diet. Another misconception is to do with Low Calorie and Vegetarian Recipes.

Some people think that if they eat a vegetarian diet they will automatically be eating a low calorie diet, but again this is not necessarily true. Vegetables it is true are low in calories, so Low Calorie Vegeterian Recipes bsed purely around vegetables will be lower in calories than more conventional balanced diets. However many vegetarian diets, meals, and dieting plans include other foods such as dairy, nuts seeds and oils which can actually be high in calories.

The key to low calorie vegetarian recipes is to use vegetables with as little dairy and oils used in the food preparation as possible, but they are obviously useful to make your food less bland. Just remember to not overdo it and you will have low calorie vegetariain food.

This is not to suggest you should NOT eat dairy, eggs etc, in fact it is generally accepted that those vegetarians who do will enjoy good health, assuming the rest of their diet is healthy. It is important to get as much protein in your vegetarian recipes as you would otherwise obtain from meat and fish etc, but this is perfectly possible by including a variety of foods.

In summary a balanced diet including Low Calorie and Vegetarian Recipes is the healthiest option, not limiting yourself to small groups of foods.
