Lowell, MA, the 4th largest city in Massachusetts, is known for the primary role it played in the Industrial Revolution.  Lowell is home to a National Historical Park, University of Massachusetts at Lowell, the Tsongas Arena, Merrimack College, and various cultural organizations.  This diverse community celebrates each summer with the Lowell Folk Festival, the largest free folk festival in the United States.  Lowell has been struggling for years with a bad public image, but it's a wonderful place to visit.  Read on!

Lowell is a city in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 105,167. It is the fifth largest city in the state. It and Cambridge are the county seats of Middlesex County.

Merrimack Repertory Theater 

The MRT is a small professional theater in Lowell. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking out a show - they are excellent quality and the theater is cozy enough that you feel like you're in the play!
