Keeping your weight forward while chipping can alleviate the dreaded "chili dip". Chipping while keeping weight on your back foot can cause you to drop the club behind the ball and hitting the ball fat. Staying forward creates crisp contact. Also check out Ben Hogan's Golf Swing.

I fully agree with your chipping tips video. I prefere using a 9 iron and vary the ball position (at left heel/centred/at right heel) to attain differing ball flights & distances. I'll only use a wedge when i need some spin on the ball (the wedge grooves help achieve this).

    Hey Rick,
Good solid information, I often have trouble with my chipping, duffing i should say. I believe the trouble is with my wrist action, not maintaining a firm and rigid wrist position. Anyway your tips help.
    Thanks

Hi Rick, - I play to about a 14 handicap now at age 62, but I once played with a 9. With age I had lost a lot of distance - until I started researching long driving. I like your lens - Much along the same line as my lens.

Great lens. If I could play more than 2x a year, I might be able to improve my game. For now, half an hour at PGA Superstore during lunch hour is about as good as it gets. I'll meet you there sometime, Rick!

My current handicap is 16, but is has been steadily going down. My favorite local course is Royal Lakes located in Flowery Branch, GA. It is a beautiful and challenging course. The 11th is an island par 3 and there are 7 holes that have water in play.
