Low progesterone infertility is one of the most common causes of infertility in women. Over the course of a monthly menstrual cycle the levels of progesterone will increase and decrease significantly. There will be a swift rise of progesterone at the time of ovulation. This diminishes if fertilisation has not happened. The reduction of both progesterone and estrogen causes the start of the monthly period. Contrary, when conception has happened, the progesterone levels increase thus stopping the lining of the uterus being discarded.Premature birth can be a threat, due to low progesterone or falling levels of progesterone. The changes that occur in the breast is mainly caused by progesterone and stimulates breast milk. The foetus is influenced by the levels of progesterone.
