Grew up on this game when we lived in Jamaica. We still play when the family gets together. This past weekend in fact. Our version is much more vicious and there is a lot of "killing" (not literally) and "cheating" of course. lol :)!! We often gang up on the leader to "kill" them so they have to "born" again. Then we turn right around and "kill" the ones we were conspiring with. Everyone gets involved and even the spectators add their thoughts as to who should be "killed" or what move to make to block out someone. The last is illegal in our rules as there is no talking game. But everyone does it anyway. That is part of the fun. Our games usually draw a crowd and get very loud as we shout "kill Jo" or "kill Tony" or whoever is looking like they will reach "heaven" before the others. All my family have either made or bought our own large wooden boards. We also play with two dice and touch is a move. You lose your turn if your die rolls off the board. Yes, my family loves Ludi!!

Hilarious lens! I loved Parcheesi as a child and tormented everyone until they agreed to play with me.

I hate Ludo. In fact I hate board games. Actually board games hate me. They NEVER let me win... (read that - my nine-year-old daughter NEVER lets me win).

The fact that you can turn a boring game into an exciting tale speaks volumes of your writing prowess.

I bow to the master... errr... mistress... (no... that came out wrong) ... oh heck... you know what I mean!

I love your writing. You are so much fun. I haven't heard of Ludo, but maybe that's from another place?
