Lumbini The Birthplace of Gautam Buddha

Lumbini, a place in the South Western Terai region of Nepal, holds a holy and pristine sentiment to the whole world, especially to millions of Buddhists all around the world. Lumbini is just 22 km. away from Bhairahawa which is around 250 kilometers away from the capital, Kathmandu.

In 623 B.C, a baby was born in a royal palace of King Shuddhodana and Queen Mayadevi. Later the fate of the baby was changed forever and the whole world witnesses the birth of Buddha.

Lumbini is a great place to visit. The region has amazing treasure of ancient historical ruins and antiquities which dates back to 500 B.C. I went to Lumbini 8 years ago and again revisited 4 years ago. Both time I felt like I was blessed on the very holy ground. It was quite an amazing experience to be on the holly ground where Buddha was born.

For centuries, many followers travel thousands of miles just to stay here. Even now, thousands of followers come here to meditate or know and revive their souls.

Dream that the Queen Mayadevi Saw That Night

There was this one night when the Queen Mayadevi saw a white elephant in her dream. She saw the elephant descended from heaven then entered her womb. This was a good sign, she thought about it. She imagined the elephant was descended from the heavens of the highest Gods and the elephant walks around her 3 times before entering her womb.
