The LX5 appears to be built for use by serious photographers, with features to match. It uses the new Venus Engine FHD image processor, allowing for faster and better capture of images. This means the user spends more time shooting and less time waiting for the camera to catch up. Image quality is also improved as a result, a step up from the already-impressive LX3. The F2.0 lens is bright, and the 3.8x optical zoom makes finding the perfect shot even easier.Though obviously focused on being a still camera first and video camera second, the Lumix LX5 still shoots great looking 720p video. The Intelligent Resolution technology works the same magic for video as it does for still photos, and the LX5 allows Motion JPEG recording as well as AVCHD Lite for longer recording times.
With high ISO settings, the ability to shoot in RAW format and low light sensitivity, the LX5 definitely has features that serious photographers are going to be looking for when they don't feel like lugging a DSLR around.
