Lung Cancer Staging
When understanding lung cancer, there are methods that you need to learn and discover. It isn't a simple task for one doctor to diagnose the concern. It takes a lot of process and accurate data to come up with crucial information such as lung cancer staging. This also means that you need to learn a lot of things to reconsider and to check and basing survival rate through staging will always be indefinite.
In staging lung cancer, one may have to learn that there are certain procedures or diagnostic exams to go under. These includes imaging and as well as biopsies. Staging is usually based from three factors, which are TNM or Tumor, Nodes and Metastasis. The physician should accurately define these three factors for him or her to create a proper diagnosis and treatment, and of course staging.
The size will be determined through different imaging studies such as x-rays, CT scan and many more. Take note that one type of staging uses the size to determine the extent of the damage and the severity of the tumor. Nodes are easily studied with such diagnostics.

Stages
Biopsy on the other hand may help determine the type of the cancer and as well as the extent of the damage. Lung cancer may have biopsies like bronchoscopy procedures and as well as the some incision ones depending on the location. There are also other exams that uses chemical analysis to determine if there are any increase in certain area or of the body, which lung cancer type is likely.
In staging, the T N and M may have some numbers designated to it. This shows the severity of the condition, an increased number means either positive or increased in size and involvement. A less complicated kind of staging, which is now usually the information given to patients, is the level staging. This is a simple adaptation of the staging where it is shown in numbers or levels from1 to 4.

Stage 1 - 4
Stage 1 involves a size of tumor not more than 2 cm. This type of cancer is very undetectable and sometimes there are only a few people who can truly be diagnosed at this stage, unless of course if you have constant panels and checkups that truly seeks for microscopic malignant growth. This stage is easily treated of course and the same goes up to stage 3.
Stage 2 has some node involvement on the same area. The size of the tumor is around 2 cm to 4 cm.
Stage 3 on the other hand has more than 4 cm while having dual node involvement, including the other side.
Stage 4 is where the symptoms usually arise and might be too late for conventional cure and treatment. Intensive attention should be given since the condition has already metastasized, which means it transferred to other areas of the body.
