Top 5 Italian Cities

Out of many great choices

If you're taking a luxury holiday in Italy, these are the cities you really must visit:
  1. Rome
  2. Turin
  3. Milan
  4. Venice
  5. Florence

Rome

Vibrant with History and Culture

Vibrant and lively, Rome is absolutely packed with culture and history. The architecture is a fabulous mix of ancient, renaissance and medieval buildings, and there are plenty of great museums and galleries to discover more about the great city's heritage. Of course, the city is also renowned for some of the world's most photographed sights: St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums and The Colosseum to name but a few.

Alongside this educational experience, those enjoying a luxurious Italy holiday will delight in the many fine restaurants, the excuisite hotels and the thriving nightlife.

Turin

Nature, Shopping and Splendid Architecture

Turin is often overlooked as a holiday destination, but the crowd's loss is very much your gain as its less fashionable nature leads to a more secluded break away from the crowds. As well as this, Turin boasts wonderful architecture, some great shopping and a great base to stay for those who wish to explore the nature of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

Milan

Fashion, Glamour, Culture and Football

One of the most fashionable cities in the world, let alone Italy, Milan makes for a memorable holiday with plenty of variety. Juxtaposing the fashion and shopping avenues with great culture, arts and historical sites, another much favoured holiday activity is taking in some of the world's greatest football with two of Italy's biggest clubs - Inter and AC Milan - finding their homes in the city.

Away from the passion and sweat of the football pitch, the city boasts the largest Gothic cathedral in the world and the famous La Scala Opera House. There are plenty of luxury hotels in Italy's most fashionable city to choose from, and enough variety to ensure you'lll spend very little time in your rented room!

Venice

Romance, Atmosphere and Culture

The beautiful and romantic city of Venice should need no introduction, but that would make this section very short indeed! Small and free of traffic, the city is wonderful just to walk (or boat) around and take in the atmosphere. There are some beautiful churches, interesting little shops and lively bustle that seems to be designed for watching from the delightful local cafes.

While there, you must take in some of the famous sights, including San Marco Square, Saint Mark's Basilica and Doge's Palace. Evenings are best finished with a romantic meal in one of the delightful restaruant's in the city that's synonymous with romance.

Florence

Elegant, beatiful and chock full of culture

Located in the heart of Tuscany, and with some of Italy's finest museums, churces, cathedrals, shopping and architecture, it's no wonder that Florence is one of the most popular tourist destinations.

Must see sights include Il Duomo, the Galleria dell' Academia and the Piazza della Signoria. Away from this high culture, the shopping is amongst the finest in Europe with an excellent selection of leather, paper and jewellry shops alongside some atmospheric open-air markets selling local produce and souvenirs.
