Replica Watches

I have to admit something: I can't tell replica watches from real designer watches. It's not that I don't follow the trends, or haven't got an eye for the details, it's just that these days the fakes are as good as the real thing.

A buddy of mine came by yesterday, we were going to watch the hockey game and have a couple of drinks. I nearly fell over when I saw that he had a $25000 Rolex Submariner on his wrist. I mean, this guy works for Blockbuster video shelving DVDs. I'm no slouch in the luxury timepiece department, and I've definitely called out a couple of my friends for wearing really shoddy replica watches before. I remember one of my friends trying to impress a girl at a bar with his fake Rolex, but the silver paint was flaking off on his wrist...classy.

Which brings me to the point: unlike my friend in the bar, my other buddy's watch was a stunning reproduction. He let me try it on, and the weight was perfect. The bezel was identical and there was no paint to flake off - the thing was solid stainless steel, just like it should be.

They're stepping up their game, those companies that make replica watches . I've been saving up for the real deal, but if the fakes are as good as the genuine thing, I'm starting to reconsider. What are your thoughts?
