Lyricist for Hire

I wrote the lyrics to this song back in 2002. It was written to express what I actually felt about my husband. He never was able to give me everything I always wanted, but I knew I could rely on him. He is my "Old Reliable Joe!"

I use to hear my daddy say,
was the kind of man you could turn too
when hard times had come your way.
He would never turn his back on you
the extra mile for you he would go,
and if you ever needed a true friend,
It was old reliable Joe!

We use words everyday to express ourselves. Words can be either hurtful or uplifting. They are used to create! God created everything just by using words. Lyrics are used to express emotions in a song. If they are well written they can touch the depth of ones very soul. This is how I see the written word:
Words are often written
to express what we need to say,
and those that we deem important
we savor day to day.
Words can be used elegantly
or peircing like a dart,
but there has never been written more beautiful words,
than those that are written from the heart!

I use to think Baby that you were the one
I wish someone could tell me how I could have been so wrong.
Had you up on a pedestal- So high off the ground
Then I just stood by and watched my world come crashing down.
And I know... I can't live like this anymore
It's just a matter of packing - and walking out that door.
You keep begging me to stay, promising me that things will change
but there's nothing left for me to stay here for.

and in the mirror there is someone I no longer know

I keep hoping this is a bad dream, and things aren't as they seem
But freedom for me will only come if I face the truth.
