I love M&M's and I look forward to trying this recipe. Thank you for posting it!

The cookie scoop is an excellent product. I have one at home and it saves my hands from getting messy with cookie dough. It's also great to use for making meatballs.

when you say "1 cup of soft butter"- how much is it in grams??
  • Treasures-By-Brenda Aug 1, 2011 @ 8:36 am | delete
Hi, I just use the measurements on a package of butter and 1 cup is half a pound. (No thinking required, LOL.) However, the package of butter is 454 grams so half of it would be 227 grams...
  • Gal Jul 31, 2011 @ 4:24 pm | delete
when you say "one cup of soft butter"- how much is it in grams??
  • Lucy Aug 26, 2011 @ 8:49 pm | delete
    Well, a Cup is 250mls. mls=grams, so 250grams.
  • franstan Jul 28, 2011 @ 7:18 pm | delete
I will surely be trying these

Mmm, I'm making these today! My son Atticus loves to help me cook, and my youngest son, Bonus, loves to help me eat! Especially when M&Ms are involved...
  • blanckj May 31, 2011 @ 8:30 pm | delete
There's 3. It doesn't help that I own a cookie business. Lots of extra batter or extra cookies appear when I complete an order. Amazingly, our 3 year old keeps us fit so you couldn't tell I run a cookie business out of my home.
  • flutestar123 May 28, 2011 @ 7:25 am | delete
Mmmm, this recipe looks so good. Like GonnaFly, I love the idea to use specific colors for different holidays.
  • promotional-coupons-codes May 17, 2011 @ 3:18 am | delete

  • GonnaFly May 1, 2011 @ 4:56 pm | delete
I must give this recipe a go. I especially love the idea of using different coloured M&Ms to match the occasion.
  • Treasures-By-Brenda Apr 30, 2011 @ 4:34 pm | delete
Steve, I'm not sure what happened to your comment. (It disappeared rather than appearing here when I approved it.)

Steve said, "Brenda this is an awsome recipe Im glad I tried it and it will be in my baking book from now on, As far as Swiss-Miss having bad luck with it, it would be my guess she forgot to put the flour in."

Thanks for letting us know this recipe worked for you exactly as it was supposed to. Now I don't suppose you'd send one of those cookies my way?
  • Superdue22 Apr 28, 2011 @ 7:53 pm | delete

These look absolutely amazing. Very tasty lens!
  • Swiss-Miss Mar 8, 2011 @ 10:04 am | delete
Not at all fabulous when made in my kitchen. I suspected problems after everything was mixed up. The dough was more like a cake batter and not nearly stiff enough to hold a cookie shape. As a result, I decided to pour into a rectangular baking dish and make M&M brownies. After 30 minutes, they weren't nearly baked, so I pushed up the temp to 400. It took nearly 50 minutes to bake them and the aren't even very thick.

Will have to look for another recipe.
  • Treasures-By-Brenda Mar 11, 2011 @ 3:43 pm | delete
I am very sorry to hear that your cookies did not turn out. However, mine do every time (and I made them again yesterday for my son to take to school.) This cookie batter is very thick. I am not sure what might have gone wrong for you.

Are you not going to give credit that this recipe is the exact cookie recipe copied from mms.com? Besides using full size m&ms, you make it sound like you came up with this recipe yourself =/
  • Treasures-By-Brenda Jan 1, 2011 @ 9:44 am | delete
I thought that with my comment "On this page, you will find what I consider the only recipe for M&M cookies because why would you mess with perfection once you've found it?" that I had certainly implied that it was the original recipe. I've added a clearer indication that it is the original recipe from M&Ms. I don't know why anyone would you use any other recipe. This page also includes my own personal recommendations for making these cookies which I know are helpful when you make them for the first time.
  • sandy blue Jan 3, 2011 @ 8:23 am | delete
