Kraft Dinner was introduced in 1937 and is the cause of the popularity of mac and cheese. It was an instant success due to the shortage of milk and dairy during World War II.Over the years, the formula was perfected and new varieties of mac and cheese were introduced.
Recently, other healthier choices have been introduced such as organic and whole wheat Kraft Dinner.
The more memorable product launches were the introduction of Thick 'N Creamy, Four Cheese, and Premium White Cheddar.
There were also different promotional versions of this famous dish introduced over the years including Super Mario Brothers, Shrek, and SpongeBob SquarePants.

One of the biggest problems that I had as I got older was that I couldn't eat as much Kraft Dinner as I used to. The reason was that I ate so much in my youth, that it started to not sit so well in my stomach.It was at this point that I learned about Annie's Homegrown Mac and Cheese. I bought my first box at Costco, and it had organic white cheddar and shells in the box (okay, I bought 12 boxes).

- I love the stuff too... one thing you can try is cook up ground beef, add taco seasoning mix and mix it with the macaroni... and add a few processed cheese slices. mmmmm mmmmm mmmm. We call them macaroni-boneys (don't ask me why). :)
