Macbook Skins

While the ibook or powerbook looks great on its own, sometimes you want to dress it up with macbook skins. Unlike stickers on your laptop, which leave a sticky residue and a real pain to remove, macbook skins leave no sticky residue of any kind whatsoever.

Applying a Macbook skin is easy, and a great way to protect your Macbook from scratches.

Customizing your Macbook with skins is a great way to protect your investment, and show off your unique personality.

It's easy to make Macbook Skins using your own designs. Start with the right dimensions (200 pixels per inch) and resolution (200 dpi recommended) to ensure your finished design will appear sharp. So if you have a 17 inch laptop, your canvas dimensions should be about 3400 x 2400 pixels at 200 dpi. And if you have a 15 inch laptop, your canvas dimensions in Photoshop for a new documents should be 3000 x 2200 pixels, at 200 dpi.

You might be tempted to use images you found online as well, like some cool desktop wallpapers. Keep in mind that the file size should be at least 1 MB minimum to look half decent.

The skins are precision cut and the apple logo will be visible and the skin does not cover it. I know some people have been asking about that but you don't have to worry as there is no trimming involved.

When looking for laptop skins for a powerbook or skins for macbook the main concern is they are for your mac so that they fit properly and have the apple on the back of the screen pre-cut for you. Using a generic laptop skin for your macbook is going to be troublesome as you will need to hand cut and trim things, besides the logo, as the dimensions for a macbook are 13.3" and most laptops are either 13 inch, 14 inch, or 15.4 inch.
