Maclaren Volo Stroller Is A Popular Choice For Moms

The Maclaren Volo Stroller can be just what the doctor ordered for the mother (and father) that are in need of a strong, sturdy and lightweight stroller; which is also compact enough to fit inside the back trunk (or seat) of any car.

Maclaren Strollers was founded in 1965 by Owen Maclaren, a former test pilot and aeronautical engineer. When Owen Maclaren decided to build his first baby buggy (stroller), he used his engineering experience to construct it out of aluminum with the ability to create a three dimensional folding mechanism.

The durable yet strong aluminum was the perfect choice to hold the weight of even a large child, yet at the same time, came in at just under 3kg/6lbs in total weight. The folding mechanism allowed it to be hidden away anywhere in the same amount of space which could store an umbrella, and all of their strollers carry that same spirit into the construction and the quality of their products today.

I think you'll love them and I shall spend the next few minutes sharing my thoughts about their modern entry level buggy stroller, better known as the Maclaren Volo Stroller.

Maclaren Volo Stroller Review

My review of the Maclaren Volo Stroller that might be helpful to you.

The Maclaren Volo Stroller is the introductory model for the Maclaren family buggy brand lineup. They are quite popular due their ease of use and maneuverability. Many moms agree for the money, nothing even comes close, especially due to the longer styled handles that they come with, which makes it much easier to push your little one along while shopping or going on walks.

The Maclaren Volo Stroller also benefits from their sturdy construction. They are well built and can manage the hearty dings quite nicely -- things that parents often put onto their strollers by placing them in and out of the car, the trunk, the backseat or in storage. One of the nicest things about a Maclaren Volo Stroller is the fact that it is extremely lightweight. Moms do not always have their man beside them when it's time to take our little ones out for a walk... so it's nice that the stroller is lightweight and easy to maneuver. Weighing in at only 8 lbs., this stroller can be a lifesaver when on the go.

More benefits of the Maclaren Volo Stroller is that it can carry up to 55 lbs for your child, which is nice because you want a stroller that your child can grow with. Some of the problems you might find with the stroller is that since this particular model is their bottom base model, you won't find many of the upgrades included with it; such as cup holders, a sun shade or a seat cushion. However, you can purchase these accessories separately -- but that only adds to the already "pricey" figure you might find that comes with this particular model. Below are the pros and cons I have found with this stroller:

PROS
• Lightweight (only 8 lbs!)
• Easy to push
• Superior turning radius
• Quality construction & tires
• Sturdy basket
• 5 point harness
• Extra long handles
• Attractive
• Comes with shoulder strap - easy to fold
• Easy to clean
• Perfect for travel, shopping and quick trips

CONS
• A bit pricey
• Too large for average 6 mos. babies
• Parisol Umbrella not included
• Accessories are expensive
• Small basket
• No cup holder or tray
• No baby cushion
• Poor customer service
• Doesn't recline

BOTTOM LINE

The Maclaren Volo Stroller does make a wonderful investment -- and yes I mean investment, only because the price is bit more than the average stroller. However, you do have to figure with what you get, it really is worth the money. The biggest problem I had with the stroller were the accessories. Once added together, the stroller can really get up there in price -- but again, you must look at this as an investment, because they will last a very long time. A much needed accessory for living in sunny weather (such as Las Vegas) would be the Sun Parasol. You wouldn't want your little one to burn, would you?

In the end, it's all about comfort for your baby and for the parents, and this is what really separates it from all the other strollers. Being lightweight, compact and easy to maneuver with the *slightly longer* handles -- it is a dream come true for parents who struggle with back problems. I highly recommend it!
