Macro Photography - An Overview
Macro Photography is a popular stream of photography. Here, the image size of the subject on photographic sensor is at least equal to the real size of the subject. The image can also be larger than the actual size but never smaller.
With the advent of digital cameras practicing macro photography has become much easier; however, a lot of photographers still use traditional cameras.

Macro Photography - Subject Ideas
In this lens I will list 5 subject ideas of macro photography.1. Bubbles or drop of water
2. Feathers
3. Flower Petals
4. Human eye
5. Spiders and Spider webs
Why can't I shoot an elephant? Of course you can (I am talking about photo shooting), but that will not be an example of macrophotography. You will need a mammoth camera for this!
As said above, image on the sensor should be equal to the real size of the subject. Hence, macro photography is all about taking photographs of small objects from a close range. Please note that all the subjects in the above mentioned list are small.
Let's see some examples and get inspired!
Bubbles & Drops of Water:
Photographers addicted with macro photography find water bubbles or drops of water to be an attractive subject. Drop of water falling to the ground; dew drops on leaves or flower petals or simply a splash of water are the common subjects.Image courtesy: listfied.com

Another attractive subject is feather of birds. Feathers make birds so beautiful. Taking pictures of feathers is an art. Both colored and black-and-white feathers have appeared repeatedly in photography.Look at the peacock feather attached.

Human Eyes
Eyes are the mirror of heart - artists have been painting pictures of eyes for centuries; poets have written thousands and thousands of lines just to adore the eyes of someone special. Eyes express dream, affection, anger, hunger and countless human emotions. It's quite natural that they would make a place in this list. One may ask that how come the image of an eye on the sensor is equal to the actual size of the eye, unless it's a baby's eye? True. Taking picture of baby eyes is a common hobby. But you can also take a snap of the eyes of an adult - when it is printed on a standard paper it becomes equal to the original size of the subject, doesn't it?

Spiders and Spider Webs:
What a wonder web they knit - attractive, but cruelly dangerous for the preys. There are macro photography experts who have dedicated their lives just for taking pictures of spiders and spider webs - Garden Orb spider, Jumping spider, Wolf spider, Itsy Bitsy spider are often photographed.Image courtesy: photography tutorials
