One of the best ways to save money by shopping online at macys.com is to register at their site and sign up to receive Macys emails. You will often be given advance notice of sales, special coupon codes and exclusive discounts. Just check your emails.

Macys also offers the typical online coupon code savings. Just enter this code during the special box for 'promo code's during the checkout process and receive free shipping, a percentage off your order total, free gifts or more depending on the promo code.

Macys holds "Buy More, Save More" events, where you get a free gift, a discounted rate or free shipping when your purchases from a certain brand or in a certain department reach a minimum amount. Often Macy's Online will offer free gifts with your purchases that reach minimum amounts (these offers change frequently). Sometimes you will need an actual promo code to redeem your free shipping offer, other times it will automatically be applied to your qualifying order during the checkout process.

Macy's has a relatively liberal exchange policy. You can return merchandise purchased online at a retail store location and avoid paying the return shipping. In all cases, however, the initial amount spent on shipping & handling will not be reimbursed to you when returning your item. Some products, such as food, cannot be returned. • You cannot return an area rug purchased at Macy's by yourself - phone customer service for this.


• Food and Gourmet Items may not be exchanged.


• Jewelry and Window Treatments both must be returned by mail.


• Purchases from Macy's retail locations cannot be returned by mail.

You can shop at Macys online not only by visiting macys.com, but also by shopping online through Amazon's Macy's Storefront.

We tested this option to see if anything differed between shopping at Macys.com and shopping Macy's through Amazon. The item we used to test it was Kate Spade's "Morago" flute (stemware). The price on both sites was $30 for this item. The chart of shipping charges appeared identical ($5.99 to $24.99 standard shipping). Shopping Macy's through Amazon contains the same delivery restrictions (only available for US addresses, US Protectorates and Territories, APO/FPO addresses. The only difference we saw was that free bonus gifts were offered if shopping through macys.com direct. These were not offered with an identical shopping cart on an identical date at Macy's storefront on Amazon.

October 16, 2008 - While pricing sale items between macys.com actual site and similar items on Macy's Amazon storefront, we noticed that items on sale at Macys were retailing for nearly twice the price at Amazon.com. We therefore surmise that sale prices also don't flow between macys.com and Macy's storefront at amazon.com.
