It gained its special UNESCO status thanks to it's very unique karst limestone formations - which are absolutely stunning and maybe even a little scary - as well as the bird and lemur population and the preserved mangrove trees.

Surfing is very popular there, thanks to the constant winds and the shape of the island. Taking a kayak out on a tour is one of the best ways to explore the stunning coastal habitats.
