HERE'S WHAT I THINK

MADE in USA -- ENDANGERED SPECIES!

Have you bothered to look these days at the labels inside the clothes you wear to see where they are made? Well, I make it a point to do so as I've been a seller of apparel and accessories for a number of years, but NOT on eBay as I've been boycotting them for over two years.

So, back to the clothing labels. Let me give you this prime example: a Moda stretch top with shelf bra by Victoria's Secret. Do you know that my hubby bought me 4 different colors and each were made in a different country, but NONE were Made in U.S.A.! I've seen Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Bangladesh, and of course the Big Daddy of them all, CHINA! Yep, MADE in CHINA has taken a big shark bite out of MADE in U.S.A. that I challenge you to find such clothing today by a big brand name. Oh, you'll find plenty of small indie designers, but who else is left. MADE in U.S.A. is an ENDANGERED Species!

P.S. Thanks to all of you wonderful friends and visitors who took time to participate in this debate and xoxoxo to those who left 5 stars.

Amorica: Made in U.S.A.

The album cover wasn't endangered, but censored. There were 2 different versions with the panties!

I designed those very PATRIOTIC PANTIES on the Black Crowes album cover! Yes, I did!

Yes, you're right!

Jack2205 says:

You can't find much of anything that is made in the U.S.A. anymore.

pissed off says:

all talk no action ive seen more u.s. made in wal-mart then other department stores but its not enough.i work in a union shop where every body doesnt care where its made just as long as they got theirs.now weve gone from 3 shifts to 1 and im laid off after 8 years of work.we got what we had coming

kab says:

Did you see that the House of Reps declared that any flag on federal property be "Made in the U.S.A". (from AOL news) Now the states need to step up.

Greg says:

It is hard to find Made in USA goods, but not impossible. My family produces pens, mechanical pencils and markers that are all made in the USA. We just opened a webstore to start offering these products to consumers (as opposed to wholesale). Take a look: www.minutemanpen.com. Again, it isn't easy to find, but we are out there!

No way, Monkeybrain!

Grendyl says:

It depends on the coupon's expiration date.

rayban says:

Isn't Fruit of the Loom an American-made product? Hold on a minute while I check!

fanfreluche says:

The problem unfortunatly is that most people want cheap and will not pay for quality "made in USA" stuff. But for those who don't mind the price, it is still possible to find american made items even if it requires quite a bit of reaserch. I think we will see a shift toward made in USA eventually.

MadeintheUSA says:

I come from a family of union workers so naturally I am pro America the red white and blue.

The facts about Amorica

Amorica is the third album by The Black Crowes. It was released in late 1994 on American Recordings and re-issued in the USA and UK in 1998, with two added bonus tracks. The album cover's depiction of pubic hair, from a 1976 United States Bicentennial issue of Hustler magazine, caused controversy. The record company ended up putting out an alternative cover that blacked out the offending image.

Made in China video

iPhone - Made In China

Though much is made of the fact that they're "Designed in California", land of sun, sand and Hollywood, the majority of Apple's products are actually 'made' in Chinese sweatshops. The average factory worker at Longhua, China makes roughly $50/month, or $600/year. Out of this, half is deducted by the factory owners for room and board. Many consider China to be a communist dictatorship, which indeed it is, but it is apparently large enough for another economic structure: Capitalism. These factories represent the 'slavery wing' of the West's capitalist network, and they just happen to be housed in what masquerades as a Communist country. Products produced for slave wages in these far away 'plantations' are then bought and sold on the mainland for inflated prices.
