Whilst playing in lower levels, stock up on body armours.

Buy as many Town Cars as you can afford. If you buy 501 you also unlock an achievement.

Mafia Wars is a multiplayer, flash based browser game, brought to you by the guys at Zynga. It is played by more than 5 million people around the globe on Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo and now it comes to you as an iPhone app.

Set in the Little Italy area of New York City, players can also travel to Cuba after level 35 and Moscow after level 70. Players will also be able to travel to Bangkok, this region will be added in December 2009.

The object of the game is to 'level up' and earn cash. Leveling up unlocks new levels, jobs and new items of loot and weaponry. You also rise higher up the ranks of the Mafia as you level up. You start off as a petty street thug and quickly rise up to Capo, Consigliere, Underboss and if you are good enough Boss.

Choosing which character you are at the start of the game is crucial. Don't worry though if you are already playing, you can still prosper with the aid of Mafia War cheats.

The most effective strategy when starting out is to put all of your skill points in to Energy. Then use all of this energy to do jobs. This will allow you to level up like crazy before you start to employ Mafia Wars cheats.

You should also concentrate on the jobs that have the best experience to energy ratio will enhance this strategy. Simply put these are jobs that give you the most experience for every energy point you put in.

If you have not yet started the game choose the Maniac.

Find a forum dedicated to Mafia Wars recruitment. Here recruit as many people to your family as possible. Go for the maximum 501.

When you do this pick your two best family members and put them in the Mastermind (someone with lots of experience) and Wheelman (your most powerful Fearless family member) slots. This will give you a 22% bonus on all your jobs.

Do not waste your skill points on anything else but Energy. The more energy you have the more jobs you can complete. Use your Godfather points wisely. Fill out a few of the surveys that get you free Godfather points. Spend them on Skill points.

When the ''Settle a Beef...Permanently'' job comes up play this over and over again. This has the highest energy/experience ratio and will allow you to level up like crazy.

Stay out of trouble. This is not a fighting strategy so don't bother with any fights. Fighting will only result in you getting robbed continuously.

Whether you want to get involved or not, fighting will have an effect on your progress in the game.

If you decide to attack a player you can gain money and experience. You can gain up to $65,000 per attack.

MAFIA SIZE

If you intend on fighting your way to the top of the tree then the size of your mafia is the most important factor. You will rarely defeat a mafia that is bigger than yours.

A larger mafia give you more weapons to fight with and also increases your overall attack and defence values.

If you have to fight always pick on a mafia that is smaller than yours.

Overall, I would warn against fighting too much. The main reason is that your name will constantly show up on the boards and you will be a constant target resulting in your health being affected and your money being robbed.

Success is absolutely dependent on the size of you family. Like many things in life- the bigger the better.

A bigger family will make you better is fights and also give you endless gifts.

A simple way of doing this is through Facebook where millions of Mafia Wars fanatics await.
