Have you consider a magazine subscriptions as gifts idea?

This is not my own idea. I came across this idea while surfing for gifts sugesstions, and I think giving magazine subscriptions for some period of time to certain people is actually afordable and unique. Usually, when we are searching for presents, we always want it to be unique, different from what other people may give, and have some meaning to the person we want to give. Once, we found it, we put a nice wrapper around it and give it away with a hope that the person will enjoy it. If we are lucky, it would be a great gift. A great one time gift.
What about a month later? will the present still be remembered? That is why giving away a magazine subscriptions is unique to me. The recipient will always remember us, everytime they recieved the magazine.

the obvious one, the one who love to read.

It is quite obvious, the person we intend to give the magazine to must love reading. But keep in mind it is a magazine, not some thick hard cover book with tons of pages. Even the laziest bum can enjoy reading a magazine, if it is about something he/she intrested in.
So, what other factors to consider?

A busy person who have no time to go to bookstore

A person with limited mobility that always stay at home/ one place. (elderly people, sick on bed, etc.)

A person that have rare hobbies or interest that finding a magazine in their field of interest is difficult

when you don't have any clue about the topic at all.

Maybe buying a bicycle to a son that love cycling is not a good idea. First, it is pricey. Secondly, unless you have deep knowledge on what your son are intrested in you maybe end up buying a bicycle that he don't want to ride. For example, you want to surprise him. You brought home a nice mountain bike that cost you a lot only to find out that your son doesn't want it because he love a "fixie" and you dont have any idea what a "fixie" is.

So on the safe side, you got him a cycling magazine subscriptions for six month instead. He is going to love it, and the best part is you can get involve to. Observe which spart of the magazine he love to read and take some time to read it on your own. That will help you to improve your knowledge in their interest from their point of view.
