Setting Up and Posting Tutorial For The WP Magazine Theme, Tribune

A standard two or three column theme , or will it be a magazine theme? Such are the deep queries when setting up a WordPress blog. But, setting up a magazine theme can be a daunting task, so most people shy away from them.

Personally, I love the magazine themes, and the Tribune theme by web2feel is one of my favorites. Apparently, it is one of the favorites among the bloggers at Crabbysbeach as well. I have created this Tribune magazine theme tutorial in an effort to help all those who want to use the theme and are struggling with setting it up.

Tribune Magazine Theme Tutorial

Easy set-up and posting

Normally, when someone hears magazine theme, they cringe. That means a lot of modifying .php code and discovering file paths to get images to work right. Not worth the effort.

The Tribune theme by web2feel is much easier to set up than any magazine theme I've come across. All of the theme's set-up options are accessible through the blogger's WordPress dashboard.

The following tutorial includes a tour of the front page of this handsome and SEO powerhouse of a theme. Take the time to watch it. If you don't use this theme, I'm guessing you will strongly consider it when you see how easily this theme can be set up and posted with.

Enjoy.

Speaking Of Magazine Themes

Most of mine have centerfolds

I wonder why this song by the J.Geils Band came to mind while I was creating this tutorial for magazine themes?

Centerfold!

Magazine Themes....

...or just the plain old everyday theme?

Magazine themes are different than the regular blog themes in they appear to be more flashy, more media driven, and require more maintenance.

In most cases, the initial set-up IS more of a task, yet from that point, on there usually is not much more difference than the regular themes when it comes to posting.

Personally, I don't mind retooling a magazine theme to get a blog to look sharp and inviting. I know that content is king, but I also think it matters where the content is being read. The environment seems to set the tone.

Which do you like to work with?

I like the plain themes because......

aj2008 says:

I have stuck with the plain themes up until now because they are the ones I know how to set up. But now I am starting to want to jazz things up a bit - when I have the time....

Give me one of those flashy magazine themes because......

Well looks like I know where to come back to when I am ready to give a magazine theme a go!

The tribune theme is a PITA. I scrapped it after not being able to get my images to show up.

Now after seeing this, I need to re-think things - again. Maybe I'll give it another go!

Thanks for the information. I have a friend who is a talented writer and has no idea about publishing on the web. I am going to share this lens with her.

Have wanted to do this theme, but haven't had the time. Will set it up ASAP. Glad to find out at the same time that it may be a bother to do, but here's the tutorial. I love it. :)
