Magic Bullet Blending System

Ranked #11,198 in Food & Cooking, #200,711 overall

It works on TV - does it work at home?

For at least two years I've wanted the Magic Bullet blending system but have been too cheap to buy it for myself. I've seen the cheesy commercials countless times, but spending $60 on something for myself just wasn't a habit I was into.

I even told my boyfriend how much I wanted it, after making smoothies for his kids. How great would it be to make everyone their own concoction and not have to clean a clunky blender? A few days later I found the system on clearance at Target and splurged. I couldn't be happier with my decision!

Articles and Testimonials

Why should you take my word for it? Because I hate to cook. I didn't even own a stove for six years. (Long story...) If I hate to cook and am lazy about cleaning blenders, and I even like it, I'm confident you will too.

While many of the testimonials you read online are bad, you have to take into consideration user error and the fact that the product has improved over the years. (Many of these testimonials are 2-3 years old.) For example, the woman who didn't like it because she didn't read the directions and broke it...can't really blame the product. ;)

One review which complains about small serving size. Personally, I think it's perfect for portion control, kids, snacks, and small appetites.

Pros: Cooking

There are a lot of pros that the Magic Bullet adds to your cooking routine.
  • Cups come with interchangeable lids for shaking, pouring, and storing.
  • Make perfectly blended baking mixes - no more flour chunks.
  • Make unlimited drinks by pouring into another glass and rinsing blade.
  • Everyone gets what they want.
  • Get ideas from cookbook and create your own recipes.
  • You really will drink smoothies daily.
  • Baby can eat what the rest of the family eats.

Pros: System Design

Beyond the cooking aspect, the design of the system offers several benefits.
  • Cups that come with rings can be used as additional mixing cups.
  • Slim profile allows entire system to store in a shallow drawer or basket on shelf.
  • Doesn't cost more than a good quality blender.
  • No smoothie maker spout to get grimey.

Cons

As great as it is, there are a few cons.
  • The cups that come with lid rings (for drinking from) have ribs on the inside, that chew up your knuckles if you hand wash.

More ideas for using your Magic Bullet

There are a lot of great recipe ideas in the included recipe book, but what about a few other uses?
  • Blend tomato and cream soups before cooking.
  • Blend baking dries with wets.
  • Process ground beef for tacos and dips.
  • Blend paint colors (for diehards, get a dedicated system).

I love it!

stargazer00 says:

We love it for smoothies and other drinks. Not so much for chopping onions and such.

I love my Magic Bullet!

jembie says:

I love my bullet. Like you I wanted one for years after seeing it on the infomercials. I finally gave in and bought it for £20 from EBay.

I use it mostly for Smoothies and think that it is cool that I can make myself a smoothie in about 30 seconds and don't have to have the ingredients that my kids want.

Ugh...

I have been looking at the Magic Bullet at Sam's Club. Now I need to go back to find out which style it is since I want the better motor and the blender.
    Thanks!

Really great for smoothies and other blended drinks. Easy to clean in the dishwasher. Not so great at chopping food like they show in the commercials. Lensrolled to my Gourmet Bouquet lens.
