Magic vs. Law of Attraction

What is Magic/Magick?

Definitions of Magic on the Web:
-any art that invokes supernatural powers
-magic trick: an illusory feat; considered magical by naive observers
-charming: possessing or using or characteristic of or appropriate to supernatural powers; "charming incantations"; "magic signs that protect against adverse influence"; "a magical spell"; "'tis now the very witching time of night"- Shakespeare; "wizard wands"; "wizardly powers"

By definition magic is mysterious and effective. There are spells that have been passed down through many generations in some families. That still does not explain what magic/magick is. MY OWN thought process is putting a WANT out to the Universe and giving that WANT a lot of energy; focus and direction to make it Manifest into existence.

Not everything works the same for everybody. Many different words that mean the same thing or explains the same thing is used by many different cultures. The one thing that remains the same is the concept of making something happen by putting your focus, power, belief and trust in that idea.

Many people who work with Magic/Magick; work with the powers of the elements; Earth, Air, Fire, Water. Certain magic is done during the New Moon, Full Moon and/or the quarter moons. I am not going to spend a lot of time in this area because I do not want to get away from the focus of the topic, but as a brief explanation working with Earth Magick (for example):

The Earth is our generator; she provides stability, grounding, growth and security to us. The Earth Element is used a lot in healing spells, protection spells and for financial growth. If you were doing a prosperity spell (as an example) Earth would be one of the elements you would invite into your circle for guidance and direction. You would use Green Candles, herbs such as pine needles, orange peels, bergamot, basil and mint. You would anoint your candle with a prosperity oil that you would design.

In another module, I am going to write out a prosperity spell and show the differences that I have seen in Magick vs. the Law of Attraction

I am going to simply write out an outline spell and in the Bold Print I will add the comparsion to the Law of Attraction. These are my observations from my own experiences.

First right off of the bat, I want it to be clearly known, that I do not believe, nor will I ever believe that money ($$-dollar bills) are EVER going to grow on trees. I DO believe that if we believe (whether it be doing a spell or putting strong positive frequencies out to the unverise) that our financial situation can greatly improve and lift us out of poverty.

I have seen great results with my own eyes by using both methods, which to me are very similar. Today my focus is more on the power of the Law of Attraction and not so much on Spell Work.

The spell sample that I am going to share is one that I have used for a very long time when I was first divorced and living on my own independently. I knew without a doubt that I needed to bring in enough money to support me, my apartment, my car and everything else I needed to live comfortable.

I was not real familiar with the Secret back then, and knew very little about the Law of Attraction. Common sense told me that if I put out some negative nothing positive would come of it, but I did not realize on what levels!

This is a Cauldron Spell for Prosperity.

Before you begin any spell work-you must be cleansed of all negative energy and your space needs to be cleansed as well. Usually, I used white sage to smudge me and the space I claimed to be where my work was going to be done. In the Law of Attraction you are suppose to clear away negativity from your thought process and from your living space by putting out positive thought frequencies, putting your mind in a place that makes you feel good.

Many times in spell work you will cast a circle (to claim your space) and invite different entities and guardians to join you for protection and guidance. In the Law of Attraction we are talking directly to the Universe, the Divine, God, Goddess, etc.

In spell work there is a strong confidence in yourself that you know the things you need in your life will manifest. In the Law of Attraction whatever thought process we put out there will come back, whether it is good or bad because the universe does not know the words like, don't- no- can't

In a prosperity spell you have to write out your spell exactly the way you want things to come to you. If you use words out of context or the wrong words, you will get exactly what you ask for. As an example, Lets say you are short on money and you put into your spell that you do not want to be short of money any longer. If one dollar came to you, could you still say you were short on money? In my case, I wanted more work and more work I got. I believe I ended up working three different jobs at that time (all merchandising which I loved!)

Visualization is a very powerful tool. In spell work you usually use herbs, oils and candles that carry money drawing properties. In the Law of Attraction-on their web site The Secret Universal Check there is a universal check that you can print out and fill out with an amount of money $$ that you want to make manifest for you. In spell work you write out a spell/affirmation In the Law of Attraction you write out your wants and send those positive frequencies out to the universe. When you are done with a spell, you give thanks, honor and usually give an offering to the Nature Spirits. In the Law of Attraction by being thankful for everything you have and are given, it enables you to share with others, whether it is monetary, suggestions, or support.

The conclusion is: In order for something positive to be sent your way, you must put positive energy out there. If you want to refer to it as Spell Work or the Law of Attraction, each one carries the same key formula, belief, trust, faith and positive energy. In turn you are grateful, thankful and feel positive. When you feel positive, others will feel positive around you and most of the time, that will encourage them to feel positive as well.
