A Magna Doodle Work of Art

One of the kids in the family got a Magna Doodle for Christmas. I tell you what. This little toy became the life of the party for several hours. Everyone was taking a turn on the thing. I just felt sorry for the poor kid who didn't get to use her new toy till the adults were tired of playing with it.

My sister took her turn and everyone admired the work she did. Then she had the clever idea to photograph the art with her cellphone and post it online on twitter. I think it even made it to facebook.

I asked my sister to send her photos and I would make this page dedicated to Magna Doodle Art. This means I am going to attempt to draw a new picture on the toy about once a week and post the results here. Make sure you join my fan club to get the updates when I make them.

My Sister's First MD Drawing

It Inspired Me to Make My Own Art

I wonder if she was thinking of her boyfriend when she drew this. There is something about a landscape with a couple of people hanging out together that make a work of art interesting.

There is Nothing Like the Night Sky

I think she was just having fun playing with the shapes on this one. It really does look like a night sky, only inverted.

Her Heart is a Maze

Can You Get Through it?

This is a very complex image. It almost seems that her heart is guarded and very difficult to get to in this picture. I wonder if I should even try to psychoanalyze the intriguing questions behind this drawing... or maybe she just likes mazes.

Flower Petals or Scales

Which do you think this looks like?

Petals or Scales

I drew this on the Magna Doodle when I found myself a little bored. That is one of the cool things about this toy. You can draw all kinds of patterns. You can do a kind of ZenTangle. It seems to be a way to make yourself relax a bit. Try it.

What do You Draw on Your Magna Doodle?

My daughter had lots of Magna Doodles when she was little and we all enjoyed playing with them. A funny story is that when she got her first one (about 4 years old or so) my husband walked by and drew a simple picture just to see how it worked, then he erased it (with the slider thing) and went on his way. My dd who had been in a different room walked over and drew the exact same picture and walked away. My jaw dropped. Of course, neither knew what had just happened.

This looks like a lot of fun for people of all ages.

Amazing, I can barely draw a straight line with the things, but I know that if one practices it can be neat and good for the brain also.
