Maharaja Palace Samode

This is a heritage Hotel Review. My own experience at Maharaja Palace Samode a heritage resort in the village of Samode, near Jaipur, India. This small village has has been quite popular with weekend revelers form New Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida and Jaipur. It is equally famous with foreign tourists who wish to get a feeling of India Regalia minus the city chaos. So Samode provides an ideal locale for enjoying a peaceful country vacation in Rajput style.

I have been there with my colleagues in the summer of 2010 and had a memorable experience at Samode and Maharaja Palace as well.

More About the Resort

The resort was renovated and re-opened two years ago after some meticulous planning and research into changing travel scenario of Samode village. There are no doubt better Hotels in Samode (Samode Palace and Samode Baug) but this property is more affordable and more open in nature. Their Manager is a wonderful guy and provided us with the best hospitality even in an off season. It is not a massively popular resort yet but it has the charm to win tourists in large numbers.

The Hotel guys do not have a strong marketing presence yet. This lens is probably the first effort towards bringing the beautiful property to Indian and International Audience. It comes as response to the satisfactory service provided to me and my friends during the stay at Samode. They do have a website but its not worth visiting.

Behold the Pink Palace and You are the KING

Welcome to the Maharaja Palace, Samode, Rajasthan

Maharaja Palace Entrance

Here is the view from the entrance. Clicked by me as we alight form our vehicle. Simple and elegant with the distinct Royal touch of Rajput rulers of Rajasthan. If you are coming here from Jaipur, the pink city, you might not be smiling with pleasure but the rest definitely will. Jaipur for your information is all pink starting from the shops to houses and official building.

Note the decorative work on the outer walls. On special occasion when the whole palace is light up it looks just wow. I have only seen in in the Managers photo album. Sorry to disappoint you there. I will return there for the first hand experience once more. The big fort type wall encloses a large courtyard with a fountain in the center and driveways in the inner perimeter. On a full moon day you cannot resist lazying out with your drinks and friends.

Maharaja Palace Location

View of the Resort Location as Snapped by me from a Hill facing the Resort.. Only the village farms and hills around....Like It?

You get the best deal if you book through us.

The Hotel has about 18 well appointed rooms which can be booked in advance. Given the popularity of Jaipur the Property is generally packed full in the tourist season. So we recommend you book it in advance.

We have excellent relations with the Hotel Management and have the best offer in the market for this property.

Activities at Maharaja Palace

Cultural Activities, Adventures, Special Dining

One great attraction of this property are the activities they organize for the entertainment of the guests. Cultural Programs, Adventures Activities and Outdoor Dinners are something that you shall definitely enjoy. Cultural Programs include local Dance forms of Rajasthan mostly. Adventure is in form of Camel Ride, Village Tours, Trekking etc.

In off season period do not expect all activities to be available. I will upload some images for the activities here.
