Wireless Mailbox Alarms - Mailbox Alarm System or Mail Alert Notifer

Wireless mailbox alarms, also known as mail box alert systems or letter arrival alarms are a simple way for any homeowner to be notified immediately upon delivery of their mail to their residential mailbox. They save people from making multiple fruitless trips to check if their mail has arrived yet which is especially useful for the elderly and those with mobility impairment but also a really nice convenience for the rest of us especially for those of use whose letterboxes are located many feet away from their home.

It's not just convenience which makes a mailbox alarm system a useful addition to your home but it could also be something which saves you a lot of heartache in the future. You see, mail theft is one of the simplest ways for any criminal to get ahold of your personal information and to take that information and steal your identity. According to some sources, mail is stolen as often as once every 2 minutes in the United States and is particularly popular amongst meth addicts and other illegal drug users who then use the information to get access to easy money in your name to support their habit. The average person's everyday mail can include credit card statements, bank statements, utility bills etc. all of which are jam packed with useful information for the identity thief and it all sits outside in an unsecured mailbox just waiting for the opportunist thief to come along and steal it. It is easy pickings for them but for you it can mean many months of cleaning up your credit as identity theft is notoriously difficult to deal with despite how often it happens these days.

I picked up a mailbox alarm system for my own protection because I hated the idea of leaving my mail outside in such a vulnerable location. I used to have a wall mounted mailbox with a squeaky lift up lid located a few feet outside my front door. When the postman came to make his delivery it would be announced by a loud squeak and with smaller letters that would usually be followed by an equally loud metallic crash as he dropped the lid back down. It was as much of a free postal delivery alert system as if he had walked up and rang the doorbell. When I moved however and my new rural mailbox was located around 150 ft away from my front door I really noticed the difference and would fret a little about whether the mail had arrived yet. Worse, it would come anywhere from 11am in the morning to 5pm at night which meant I would make multiple fruitless trips to the check the mail every day which quickly became really inconvenient.

Not so with my mailbox alarm however. A five minute installation now gives me a loud series of beeps when the mailbox is opened so I can hop out and bring it in without having to keep checking all day long or worrying about someone stealing it before I get there.
