Here at Squidoo, we're inspired by Seth every day.

And we're not the only ones. Not by a long shot.

People who read his blog, pick up his books, hear his speeches, read his lenses, meet him on the street... hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people are inspired and moved and challenged by Seth. Probably even millions.

So as a way to wish him a happy birthday this year--and more important, to celebrate his unflagging spirit of generosity, community and innovation--we're creating this virtual birthday card.

But it's not for him, not really. It's for you. It's for you to share your own make a difference story. Because that's what Seth really wants for his birthday.

Sign it. Tweet it. Share it. Pass it on.

Seth doesn't know we're doing this (yet)

But here's his blog post that inspired the SquidTeam to get this going.

What should I do on your birthday?

On July 4, birthday of the USA, we're supposed to blow off fireworks, eat hot dogs and buy a Chevrolet.

On Columbus Day, birthday of an early imperialist, we're supposed to shop and march in a parade.

On Martin Luther King Jr. day, marvelously, we're supposed to participate in a national day of service.

So, what should we do on your birthday?

With all due respect to Hallmark, the idea of sending people cards and presents on their birthday seems both selfish and small-minded. It seems to me that we could think bigger.

On the birthday of your company or brand, what would you like your customers to do?

On your birthday, what should your friends do? Let's say you have a shoe buying fetish. Perhaps on your birthday, your friends could buy shoes--for themselves, not for you. Share the joy, right? Or perhaps buy shoes for their friends?

On my birthday, it would make me really happy if people started a project, launched an idea or engaged in a difficult interaction that made something good happen. Make a difference day.

What's your story?

Wish Seth a happy birthday...

And share your own 'make a difference' story

Forget the hallmark cards and gift certificates and boxes of chocolate, and instead wish Seth a happy birthday here by posting your own make a difference story.

Or just one thing you plan to do or finish or create or publish or ship or write or smile about this week.

How are you going to make a difference, today?

What do I do to make a difference? I am part of Together we can change the world, helping to change the world one person at a time.

Another ways by interpreting dreams for people. Just followed a course on interpreting dreams.

Still another way is by helping people to have real difference in their lives by introducing them to the creator who is able to help each person to lead a totally fulfilling life.

Happy birthday, Seth. Thanks to the Squidoo Team, I can wish you a "Happy birthday" in this page. I know, you don't need any materialistic gifts or any gift cards on your birhday. I know that you are on a different mission, a mission to create leaders out of ordinary peoples, to ignite the flare in them, which they themselves have unconciously doused off, not kowing its immense potentiality. I know, you would be much more delighted even if one single person can succeed following the path you advise. That would be a fitting birhday gift for you. I wan't to be that person Seth, and may be someday I will.

Happy Birthday, Seth.

Here's an idea for your birthday. Let's start something that get's the world thinking "better together" rather than going solo. Let's as a world of Squidooers do something that creates a "purple cow." Let's do something truly remarkable. Let's put a strategy in place that helps California get out of debt. Let's act like a bungee cord - twisted together and strong. Let's turn that funnel on its side and give every caring person the opportunity to shout through a megaphone. Let's take Squidoo where the foot traffic is - into restaurants, coffee shops and book stores through Wi-Fi digital photo frames that can be remotely programmed from a home online computer.

I created a Squidoo lens about this. Visit www.squidoo.com/WYW. On November 19th in San Francisco, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is having his second annual Small Business and Entrepreneurship Conference. We need to have a big turnout of Squidoo lensmasters there. See www.sba.ca.gov for details.

You gave me a fantastic opportunity to intern with you last year and you taught me a lot about developing online communities. More importantly, you taught me to think bigger, aim higher and be braver.

I stopped looking at graduate jobs and worked hard to acquire the skills for an exceptional job. I'm now online community manager at the United Nations in Switzerland.

But it very much fits your definition of hard work. There is a lot of resistance to new ideas and we're missing a lot of opportunities to empower our audiences. To honor your birthday I'm going to send out a manifesto to my bosses outlining the grand vision and the challenges we must face to reach it.

It's not going to be the most popular manifesto, but it's going to be out there. It's going to be written down on paper. Which I hope will let us talk about it.

(And making one 90 percent charity lens, to boot. Keep 10 percent for coffee money.)

I am going to take 30 minutes out of my day to consider a more selfless project I could start that would make the world a better place.

Happy Birthday Seth.

I usually read your blog on the train in the morning. It's how I start my day and 99% of the time you say something that I carry to work and the world around me. Namaste!

Happy Birthday Seth! You know, at our recent pool party one of the questions that Megan asked was when is Seth Godin's birthday? I was able to answer that with July 10th because it is easy to remember that day when it is the day after July 9th, my birthday. But, this is NOT about me -- it is about you, Seth Godin! So, what am I doing today? There is one thing I've already put into motion -- but that will be announced later. Today I am making a large donation to First Coast No More Homeless Pets FCNMHP -- they have a fundraising event ARTunleashed. Yes, I follow your daily blog and am awed and inspired and feel I should be doing more. I wish I COULD do MORE. A blessed day to you -- may you live forever!

I've been one of your biggest fans for 10 years now, and knowing you for the last four has been the best. You're the man, and you're the real deal.

I'm going to start today by making a donation to the Acumen Fund, help some friends with a project, and read your blog for the next inspiration.

Hope you have a remarkable day!

Happy Birthday Seth. I think for your birthday I'm going to take a box of supplies to Habitat For Humanity. I've not been able to work on a house, but have found that through their ReStore, I can make a physical donation of supplies.

Happy Birthday, Seth! I told someone just last week that in all the years I've known you (a few!), I've never received feedback from you that didn't change something about what I was doing for the better. I love that so much. On your big day tomorrow, I'm going to actively engage with some very important people and make good stuff come of all the interactions. Can't wait!

So what am I going to do today to make a difference? Thanks to Seth, I ask that every day. And sometimes, just sometimes, I might even deliver.

Happy birthday, Doc.
