Making them yourself

Making your own bath salts can be quite an adventure, unless you call the mess you'll create the first time you make them an adventure, then yes.

Nothing makes something more meaningful than learning something from the experience. But when you master the art of making your own bath salts, you will need a couple - okay not necessarily a couple - but a few things to consider in making your handmade bath salts better whether you'd want to use it or sell it.

Things you can work on

Colors - now this one can be quite tricky. Adding colors to your bath salts make it look more interesting and not dull. Adding color will always make your bath salts better. One trick you could use is choosing the appropriate salts' color with the fragrance used in the bath salts. Like blue, or purple, for lavender fragrance.

Dendritic Salt - this is the secret ingredient to most bath salts. Dendritic salts are fine grade salts that when fragrance is mixed to it, makes it last longer. Dendritic salt also prevents the salt from clumping when stored for a long time. You can add your fragrance and color to dendritic salts first before adding it to your main mixture.

Choose Better Salts - this one is probably optional. Most people would opt out to use the first sea salt they can find. But choosing better salts, like dead sea salts for example, will make your bathing experience better. Dead sea salt is a more expensive salt, but it's mineral composition and therapeutic properties makes it the subject of a lot of studies and research.

Fizzing Salts - add a little extra to your salt by making it fizz. This one is probably one of the easiest ways of making your bath salts presented a little differently. You just have to add citric acid and baking soda to your mixture. Be sure to mix it fully to the mixture.

The Container - you'll need something that probably is transparent or something that'll let you know what's inside specially when you add colors to your salts. You can choose plastic or glass containers, and make sure it's air tight so that molds won't appear and make the scent of the salts last longer which is what you want when you plan on storing the salts for a long time.
