Learn How I turned this photo into a really cute Halloween Greeting Card!
Last year I make the cutest Halloween greeting cards for my family. Everyone loved them so much, I have decided to share the concept for "Lift-the-Flap" greeting cards!
Supplies You Will Need:
1. Photos of you children or family members. Ours were taken at the zoo when the Halloween Decorations were up.
2. Purchased Halloween stickers of scary faces and masks, etc....
3. Copy machine (I have an HP Officejet) with the capability to enlarge or reduce.
4. Photo paper, card stock, etc...
5. Clear tape.
6. Scissors and box cutter or exacto knife.
Getting ready to make your Halloween Greeting Card:
Have all your supplies for the greeting card ready and waiting!
After you find the photos and the stickers (or illustrations) you want to use, I advise you to make copies of them.
I made copies of the "mask" stickers because I am cheap and think I might use them later. I can also control the size of the "masks" so I can make them fit a variety of sizes. If I want to make a card that is larger, I just enlarge the photo and print it. Same goes for the stickers.
You can print the "masks" on photo paper or card stock. It is up to you and your budget. Sometimes I just like to use what I have on hand.
If you decide to use the original sticker, be sure to put it on another piece of paper so you can have a "tab" at the top. (See the instructions below to understand what I am talking about.)
Be sure to have some card stock or heavy paper to mount your finished picture.
If you are going to mail the card, it is a good idea to have the envelopes already on hand. Be sure to cut the card stock to fit the envelope before you mount the finished "lift-the-flap" card.
These Halloween Stickers would be perfect for your project:
Halloween Fun Stickers 36 Sheets
This has some cute jack-o-lanterns that would make good "masks".
SW HALLOWEEN STICKERS 120 STKS
Again, jack-o-lanterns make good "masks".
Steps in making the Halloween Card:
(Click on each photo to enlarge it and read the instructions for the greeting card)
Carefully cut a slit above the head of the person. Be sure to put cardboard or a cutting mat under the photo.
Adhesives for making your "lift-the-flap" Halloween cards:
What sticking stuff would you prefer to use for making this card project? You can vote a product up or down. You can even add your favorite to the list by going to Amazon, finding it, and then clicking "add".
More Halloween Cards I made:
(Remember, you click on the small photos to make them larger. Comments are on some.)
"Lift-the-Flap" scary cards with "rub-on" spooky letters! I mounted the photos on card stock (a heavy paper) to hide the back of the photo with the taped flap.
