The articles you submit to examiner.com earn per article view. Your articles show up as news in search engine results, so earnings often spike immediately after an article is published and then drop off over time. Make sure you include locations and helpful information to other people in your city. My experience is that earnings are approximately 1 cent per view. Because earnings are based on views at Examiner, be sure to promote your articles to get the most traffic from them. High paying keyword phrases are not as important as traffic.

- The Internet really is opening many doors for added family income and it is great. Writing online is a great way for the parents to be able to stay home with the kids, the disabled earn a living, and the elderly to add a little spare pocket change into their lean earnings. Thank you for spotlighting one more arena for earning that income online through writing.

- I've been writing for Examiner for a little over a year. I even got an iPad through them. They pay OK. It's not as good as a regular writing job, but they pay better than most other writing sites. And, they pay you when they say they will.

- I applied once to write for the examiner, but guess they didn't like my topic or think I was experienced enough. I'm glad now that I didn't get started with it, as I've been able to focus on Squidoo.
