Make-up Training - Make-up Artist Career

When I first looked into Make-up Artist careers, I was shocked at how expensive school can be. In most states, the only option is going to a Cosmetology school, which involves anywhere from 1,000 - 1,500 hours of school (25-40 weeks of school).

School tuition fees range from $5,000-$20,000, and if you include the money lost by not working for all those months at a job or in your career, the true cost of going to school is over $35,000. Most schools offer financial aid but this is usually in the form of school loans, which means when you graduate you will be in deep debt and will be paying this off for a VERY long time.

Even more disappointing for those looking for Make-up Artist training is that Cosmetology schools usually spend much more time on hair (hair color, styling, etc) and nails - than training you to become a Professional Make-up Artist.
