Make your Money last until the next Payday
Ranked #11,028 in Business & Work, #265,531 overall
It is getting more difficult to make money last until the next payday. People have so many bills to pay and still have to eat and take care of the family. Once it's the middle of the month many families start to struggle. Some have the luxury of an overdraft, some can borrow from friends and family, but many have no where to turn to, except maybe to get another Loan from the bank.
How can we avoid expensive interest rates and make our money last until the next payday?
a) Always put at least 5% of your income aside, when you get paid and try not to think about it. If you do, you will only spend it.b) Have a budget - Write your incomings against your outgoings and what is left - divide it by 4 weeks. So, example if you have £500 left after bills/savings that means you should stick to living on a budget of £125/week.
c) Loose change - I usually put £1 in an envelope everyday. It really helps me out in the last week of the month. It means, I have about £25 cash for groceries. Also, once in while if you have any loose change, put it in. If you are worried about having too many coins, you can take it to the bank in exchange for Notes or put it in one of those machinesin supermarkets that turn coins into Notes.
d) Cut down on Take Aways. Cook on a large scale at the weekend and keep it in plastic containers in the freezer. Before you go to work thaw it in the fridge. After a hard day's work it's so convenient to get a take away. People might find it tiring cooking after a long day at work, but the cost does add up.e) Also, buy in bulk on that first week of the month after you've been paid. It saves some money and also buying any extra shopping during the month.
I hope you find these tips useful.

- No matter how much money you have, if you spend it all, you are in trouble. I had to learn early on to live within my means. Not easy when you have little, but make a game out of finding new ways to cut expenses and to save.
