How To Make Your Own Wedding Veil

Decide what length of veil you would like. For a shoulder-length veil, you may want twenty four inches of cloth. Waist length up to thirty two inches. For fingertip length, you may want forty inches. Floor length can vary by your height. You'll be able to even have an extended, cathedral-length veil that goes onto the bottom.

Purchase tulle--the material you may use to form your veil. Go to the nearest fabrics store, and you may realize a range of various forms of tulle. Match the colour as close as your wedding dress colour. Decide tulle that's slightly soft and not stiff and scratchy. Tulle is incredibly cheap and normally is found for one or two dollars per yard or less. All tulle ought to be 10 inches wide.

Lay out the tulle on an oversized table or the ground. Fold it half and place paperweights or other alternative objects to push it down flat. Occasionally mugs can be used, as alternative if you don't have paperweights. Cut the sting (not the folded edge) of the veil into a curved form. You'll be able to use a pattern to try to this or simply rounded the edges.

Unfold the tulle and {stitch} a running stitch along the straight edge. Measures three inches from the edge to the inside, use a needle and white thread, sew all across the veil. Once stitched, hold the thread at one finish and push the tulle along to assemble it.

Attach the tulle to a comb. Purchase a 4-inch bridal comb. If you're married in a low temperature venue, you can use a glue gun to paste the tulle on to the comb. Don't use glue if your wedding is in an exceedingly hot or humid a part of the country since the glue might soften. Rather than glue, you'll be able to attach the tulle to the comb by stitching. Merely sew the tulle to the comb by bringing the stitches through the fabric, then between the teeth of the comb. Make sure the tulle is hooked up utterly. Your veil is finish.
