Make a Difference

Every little bit helps!!

If each one of us did just ONE thing to make this world a better place, can you imagine the changes that we could all make? If you start with yourself, your parents and grandparents and then add your kids... just imagine how many good deeds just one family could accomplish. And then if the word spread around the world, we would be living in a world that we would even recognize!! What are you going to do today?

Warm Winter Clothes are Always Needed

Go through your closet and pick out some items for charity. There are a lot of people out there who could really use some good warm clothes for the winter season. Actually, I just went through my closet and there are so many items in there that I simply don't like any more. Might as well put them to good use to make someone else happy!

Donate a Few Books

Go through your collection of books and choose six that really don't interest you any more. I have a ton of novels that I have been hanging on to for way to long. Chances are very low that I will ever read them again, so I might as well donate them to our local library.

It's Not Ours To Keep

We have not inherited the earth from our fathers. We are borrowing it from our children.

Unknown...

*But we have all heard the saying a million times. We simply have to start living like it's true.

Adopt a Pet

There are soooo many pets that need homes and are just waiting for someone to give them a little bit of love. If you are thinking about bringing a pet into your family, consider adopting from your local shelter.

*You might consider donating some old blankets or even bags of pet food to your local humane society. Every little bit helps!

How About a Hug

... can be as simple as giving one of your kids a great big bear hug. And no, it doesn't matter how old they are!

4 Ways to Make a Difference

1. Call your Mom or Dad on the phone. There are a lot of people out there who never hear the phone ring and would love the attention a simple phone call can bring.

2. Have a special "tea time" with your kids. And make it one on one so that if there is something that they wish to talk about, they can use your tea time to discuss things.

3. Say something nice to a complete stranger. It's that simple... the clerk at a checkout, someone you pass on the street... it's that simple.

4. Keep your eyes open for someone new moving into your neighborhood... and take them something that you baked. I don't think that people do that any more, but it sure would be nice.

A New Neighbor??

I remember how scary it is moving into a new home, in a new city and in a new country! I was so happy when neighbors began dropping by to wish us well! It took but a few minutes out of their day and completely made mine! So, the next time someone new moves onto your street, don't ignore the new faces on your street. Go over and introduce yourself. They are probably feeling so lonely right about now!.

Make Their Day for a Loonie

Drop a loonie on the sidewalk and imagine just how much fun for the child who notices it laying there. I know that a loonie doesn't go as far as it used to, but it's still fun to find money on the street!

A soft spot for animals??

Just Listen...

Invite a friend for lunch and let HER do all the talking. It might be just what she needs if there have been problems in her life. Sometimes all a person needs is someone to listen.

* If a friend happens to live a long way away, maybe a phone call could be something to consider. It's sad to think of all the friends that we lose because time and distance get in the way!
