Ways to help

There are several ways to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

You can donate money, items (like computers, building supplies, etc.), frequent flier miles, and hotel loyalty points.

You can also shop at their online store at http://www.wish.org/help/shop_to_help.

You can be a volunteer. There are several volunteer opportunities available. You can be a "wish granter", which is a person that talks to the child and their family about the wish and helps make the wish come true. They also need people to help with fundraising, office work, and special events.

Some areas may need help in special areas. You can always contact your local chapter to see what they need. You can find out more about Make-A-Wish at their main website wish.org.

Some facts...

Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life threatening illnesses that are between the ages of 2 1/2 and under the age of 18.

They do not participate in chain letters or chain e-mails. For information on what to do if you receive such a letter check out http://www.wish.org/about/chain_letters.

Many of the children Make-A-Wish has granted wishes for have gone on to lead healthy lives.

If you are the parent or legal guardian of a child who may be able to receive a wish, you can refer a child by using their online referral form at http://www.wish.org/refer/referral_form.

Some great books

Encyclopedia Of Scrapbooking (Creating Keepsakes)

Scrapbooking is a fun way to help memories last forever. This would be a very useful book for a parent of a wish kid.
